I have tried several combinations- but when I compare it to my library its seems to leave out numerous books any suggestions?
Do you mean how would yo udo this completely automated? I don't think the metadata is consistent enough (neither is the titling) to do this. My intro collection is mostly hand-created.
[Y] yeah that verifies what I am experiencing- thanks - hopefully we can get to a point one day when we can see the books more closely associated so its easier to do this.
Hi Whyndell:
Here is the rule I created (a few words are intentionally truncated to allow for differing words):
(subject:introduc) OR (subject:Bible AND subject:handbook ANDNOT title:"study bible") OR (title:survey ANDNOT subject:theolog)
After manually removing 12 titles and manually adding:
I am left with 44 resources.
I am in the process of trying to catalog (create collections) most of my library (only 550 resources left) and so far I have found only one or two resources that did not fit my collection rule (which I have called Introductions and Background).
Chuck
PS: If it is of any value, this is the result of my rule:
Thanks Chuck,
That was actually very helpful I ended up with 46 items.
FWIW, this is what I use for a 'background handbooks' collection:
(title:(introduction,survey,history,background,archaeology,antiquities) OR subject:(survey,history,background,archaeology,antiquities) OR (subject:Bible AND subject:introduction)) ANDNOT (title:church OR type:harmony OR subject:philosophy)
