Resizing groups in a layout

First I'll say that I like the new layout process more then the Workspaces, but I have a question about customizing a layout. What my problem is if I want to customize beyond the format types listed in the Layout view can this be done? If not LOGOS should allow for this customization. I know I can resize a group by clicking on the top of the group and can raise and lower the group. But I can't seem to adjust it from the bottom of the group. I'm not on my system for checking the width adjustment, I'll follow-up on that tonight.

Ideally I would like to be able to adjust qa particular tabbed group to any size and position I want. So scalability is important and the ability to shift groups and then lock them in their new placement.

If I am missing something please let me know.

The process is different. You cannot drag panes from the bottom.

To create what you want, try opening a new resource then dragging it to some other places on the screen. You should see blue shaded rectangles appear (don't drag too quickly). Each rectangle is a place you can 'dock' that pane and the size of the rectangle is the size that the pane will assume when you release the mouse. There are quite a few places you can dock a pane and quite a few sizes. Experiment around and then name the layout you like so you don't have to do it all over again.

it's VERY dependant on how many windows you have open; if you only have two windows open...you won't be able to make them both 1/8 size with nothing else on the screen.

If you have two windows open you only have as a choice:

 

1.) One on each side, separate by a vertical line (the split is infinitely slidable width-wise.)

2.) One on top and one on bottom; same deal as above on the split line.

 

If you have 3 windows open; you get other options; and with 4 windows open you get more....

 

you just have to experiment with dragging them around by the upper pane area...as Mark said...they turn blue and they give you a sort of preview of what you're going to get before you let go.
