If I update or edit a named layout, chances are I want to use the layout drop-down again right away. But I have to open the drop-down again. It would be nice to have that drop-down stay open unless I am actually invoking a layout. I understand that might require a close icon, or creating a delay before closing in order to see if I attempt to do something else. Also consider that there is a significant delay in attempting to open the layout selection drop-down. That's part of what makes it inconvenient to have it close when I would usually attempt multiple operations before I'm finished with it.
