How to research this?

I am researching the use of the word "touch" in the Bible, specifically New Testament and for now, the Gospels. Logos has been excellent in helping me understand the many images of touch - healing, love, reassurance, faith, etc.

However, on one I am stumped, and I am hoping someone has an idea how to research this as I can't make much progress. The Gospel of John never uses the word touch in any word form!!

That has to be meaningful, as it's used so much in Matt-Mark-Luke. How might I research the significance of this?

Interesting observation, but it depends on the translation, right? I'm getting 12 results in 7 verses across 7 translations. Are you looking at all meanings of the word?

Yeah looks like the translation matters of course. John 20:17 is sometimes "cling" vs. touch, but that's close. I don't see anything else so far.

I think there is a point to John's theology that the healing and reconciling stories in the other Gospels are not in his. Trying to get my arms around what that story is...

I would use a gospel synopsis to see how touch is the same and different between the gospels. Unique occurrences of touch might help you nuance the different ways each gospel writer envisions touch. Also, I would run Louw Nida semantic searches on John to account for any "touch" that might be translated with a different work.

Have you check this by semantic domain? I tried but gave up after my first attempt to find the semantic domain. You'll see it as a bug report?
