A18 Screenshots: Highlighting and Visual Markup

Release notes: Highlighting is visible for resources which are marked up in Windows.

Works like a champ. I did some simple highlighting on the Windows side, which automatically synced. Then I came to the Mac, where I had to force the sync, either by typing "sync now" or by restarting.

If you don't want to see the highlighting, you can click the little "3-circle" button and then unselect highlight.

The "3-circle" button changes colors depending upon what you have selected.

So back to Windows to create a simple note. I couldn't make it appear in A18 by typing "sync now," but a restart worked fine. The yellow box appeared next to the verse. When I double-clicked I got the standard "not implemented yet" panel, but when I put the mouse pointer over it, I got a tool tip with the note:

As with highlighting, you can turn the notes off using the "3-circle" button.

Indeed. Select a translation. Use that "3-circle" button again and select "Bible Text Only." Hey, look! Now you can make all your translations look like the NASB95. ;-)

Bible Text Only works with the Greek as well, and I presume other original languages.

Release notes: Page Numbers...[is] implemented as well

Go to a book and click that 3-circle button again. Clicking Page Numbers puts a visual marker on the page where the new pages starts. This is less helpful than being able to click to set the reference text box from text to page, but at least it's a way to see the page numbers. As someone who documents his sources, this has been a severe limitation of the Mac version of L4, so I welcome it heartily!

Release Notes: Reading Plan ...[is] implemented as well

First, you've got to have a reading plan. Go to the File menu and either create a new reading plan or modify an existing one. The calendar view didn't work for me, but the list view worked fine.

Once you have a reading plan, open the translation for the plan, click the 3-circle button--there's a real name for this button, right?--then check the reading plan you want to see. Then go to the book of the Bible that you should be reading today, and you'll see a note indicating where you should start reading today.

Release Notes: Links to open panels visual filters are implemented as well

Well, this feature seems half-baked to me. To try it, select a book that has links to other books, and then open those books as well. Then use that now-very-familiar 3-circle button to select "links to open panels." Check your Facebook page, cause it takes a bit before the links are highlighted. On my A18, the links show up as red highlighting. But here's the half-baked part: the highlighting is inconsistent.

In a commentary, Dt 13 is highlighted, but Dt 18 is not. (And yes, my default Bible, NASB95, is open in another panel.)

In a lexicon, other lexicons (like TWOT) are highlighted for one word but not another.

Now perhaps there's a logical explanation for this; if so, I'm all ears (and more than happy to apologize for calling it half-baked!). :-)
