Logos 4 Mac Pre-Alpha 18 Stops Responding Requires Force-Quit

I think I did this correctly, but Logos 4 Mac starts up and I can't scroll or do anything with it even after 10 minutes. There's no icon indicating it is downloading or indexing, there's nothing in the Logos 4 Mac windows indicating anything happening like the spinning wheels in the Passage Guide. I get the color wheel of death and the only way out of it is a Force-Quit.

I just start Logos 4 Mac and I tried to scroll down on the Bible. Nothing else is needed for me to get into this. It doesn't scroll but a few lines for me before this happens. I have the Passage Guide, ESV opened to Exodus 30:17 and the NAC open. Passage Guide, ESV and NAC is linked to Set A.

Are the logs you posted of the former problem you are referencing or the latter? If the former could you give me more of a play-by-play of what you are doing in order for the program to stop responding? And, again if the former, how long do you let the color wheel spin before you force-quit? Finally, could I get your system specs?

I start Logos, when the Passage Guide wheels stop spinning which is usually within a min or two of startup. I click on the Bible (ESV) pane to try to scroll down where I am to start reading and that's pretty much it. I don't see any of the Passage Guide wheels spinning like I normally do when I think Logos 4 Mac is doing something. I don't see any icons indicating downloading or indexing either.

I've waited anywhere from a few minutes to more than 10 minutes at one point. This seems to have just started as I didn't notice anything particularly bad about Pre-Alpha 17. I suppose I could wait a little longer...but its fairly painful already [;)]

MacBook Pro @ 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM and running 10.6.3.

Only things running on my mac is Firefox, Chicken of the VNC, AdiumX and VMWare Fusion at the moment. Pretty much what I have open daily for work.

The logs I think if I did it right according to the video were just now where I have to Force-Quit my way out. If it isn't, that was my intention and I can try again.

To make sure we know what we have in terms of your actions and the logs could you do it again, take the log files and archive them then post them again with what you did exactly (what you searched for from the HomePage as well), and which categories in the Passage Guide you have expanded.

I don't have the HomePage open. I customized to have it turned off and it loads to my normal layout. Looking at the Passage Guide, I didn't touch it really so it looks like all of the categories are expanded....maybe I should have some of them closed?

I have the Passage Guide and my Reading Plan (docked) in the left vertical column. ESV Bible opened to Exodus 30:11 in the middle vertical column and the NAC on the right vertical column.

I click the middle panel so I can scroll the Bible and start to scroll downwards. Maybe about 1/2 page downwards I'll get the spinning color wheel. Just a visual check, I think its been 5 mins or so now without any response when I Force-Quit out of Logos 4 Mac.

These are new Logos 4.log and Index.log files as I renamed the old ones and watched the program create new ones.6433.Logos4Mac-Apr20-1545PM.zip

It came from the Windows version I installed. ie, I loaded the Windows version on my desktop at home first on Friday or Saturday. When I got that working I loaded the Mac Alpha 17 on my MacBook Pro so I could access it at the office. The layout was created on the Windows machine and then synced to my MacBook Pro where I loaded it.

Don't know if it was something I did or you fixed something but I read the next chapter of my reading plan last night on my Windows PC and this morning was able to load my layout on the Mac Alpha to Exodus 33. My Content and Cross References still take a long time to stop spinning but I am able to read and scroll the bible now.
