Reading plan sync after off-line Android reading

Has anyone else noticed a tendency for Android devices not to sync reading plans after being used off-line? My tablet doesn't have a phone connection so, if I'm away from wi-fi, it's off-line. I've got the app on both my phone and my tablet.

I sometimes use my reading plan on one, and sometimes the other, so it may be that I read yesterday and the day before on the phone, and today on the tablet, but the tablet wasn't on-line. Once back on my home wi-fi, I've sat and waited for tens of minutes, and found no update happening - neither device knows about the reading done on the other, and my PC thinks I'm days behind.

In the end, I closed the Logos app on the tablet, and then re-opened it. That caused an immediate three-way sync.

I notice a rather old support page, advising us just to bring each device up to date manually, but it seems like the above procedure "gives it a kick".

What doesn't ever seem to happen is a sync unless the device is in use with Logos in the foreground. Ideally, of course, it would happen as a background task while the device was not in use - otherwise I can never rely on any one device to have the correct state of my plan.
