Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
While I hope no one answers this on a Sunday, especially this one, I thought I'd submit it, in case Mr. Proctor would be interested in writing an article showing us the steps involved.
I just yesterday purchased Select Works of Josephus (8 volumes), and did so because it has the Greek Texts. I wanted them to go with my Philo collection acquired with the Silver library.
Since these gentlemen were near contemporaries of the early church, I wanted to see how *they* used certain Greek words, as part of isagogics. So here is my challenge:
I want to search just the Greek texts by either Philo or Josephus (or any other contemporary of the early church written in Greek) for the use of any derivative of "doulos." Then I want to have a sort of "Passage List" with the Greek excerpts on one side, and the English on the other.
I would then be able to study the various uses of "doulos" by either of these writers, and thus expand my understanding of what the early church thought of as "slavery" or professional servitude.
What I'm not aware of is whether or not Textual Comparison and Passage Lists are features designed strictly for Biblical text.
