As I open a saved layout  it loads the passage guide, exegetical, the Bibles and commentaries but within the passage guide the resources continue to spin for up to 5 minutes when trying to look up a verse in passage guide Logos locks up requiring a force quit.

    Hi Heath,

Do you have 'Biblical People' open in layout.

It causes problems for me and it might help to close it until you really really essentially need it.

I make sure that my Passage Guide does not start up with Biblical People, Places or Things (BPPT). Biblical People leaks memory like a sieve, as the developers have noted.

If I want to access BPPT, I open the dropdown after Passage Guide has finished its initial startup. I'm able to access BPPT without any trouble then. And I always close the BPPT dropdowns when I've finished, and/or before I close the app.

    Every blessing

Thanks. how do I stop those items from appearing by default in the passage guide?

That will probably do the trick because it is those items that continuely spin forever.

    Hi Heath

If you have access to the Windows version you could open the layout there, close the offenders and re-save the layout.

If the layout isn't too complicated you could recreate it with the offenders closed.

It's a matter of closing the headings as per screen shot. The usual Apple way click an open dropdown to close it; click a closed dropdown to open it. See screenshot.

Once closed. BBPT doesn't try to load. Spinning pizza stops! Then resave your layout as below:

Then your default Passage Guide is set for BBPT closed. If you want any BBPT, then select them one at a time after everything else is loaded.

    Hope that helps.
