Logos 4 won't Index on Windows 7

Hello,
I'm running Logos 4 on Widows 7. I'm trying to install the software and have had nothing but problems. I have had nothing but problems. I've had the Microsoft C++ install issue, which was resolved after talking to tech support. Then after install the software would shut down before I could even log in, again fixed with the help of tech support. Now the indexing won't run. It begins when I open Logos 4, but stops shortly there after. Any ideas?

First run a virus/malware check on your system... You never know know if something is interfearing...
It is possible the system is just slow getting started... What are the specs of your system? At minimum you should have 2 gig RAM, 4 gig prefered... In addition to the Logos tricks for optimizing Windows 7, try disabling the internet connection on the computer, then disabling any Anti-Virus software you have running, along wioth any other software or services running in the background.... (Keep track of everything you do, so you can turn it back on before going online again.) If you run on a notebook, make sure you are plugged in to power, fully charged, and power management set to give best performance. After doing this, start Logos in offline mode, type "rebuild index" in the command box and hit enter, then wait at least 10 minutes... Indexing should start then run for several hours depending on the number of your resources. A mini Logos 4 icon should show up in the windows taskbar on the right (or in the expansion box for the toolbar)
God Bless

I've not had any trouble running L4 on Win7 64bit.
Trouble with indexing may be resolved by rebuilding the index. This can be done from within the program by typing rebuild index in the command bar. If you can't do this, you could navigate to the location through Windows explorer, by going here:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\{random numbers]\LibraryIndex\
Then delete (or move, if you're paranoid) all the files there. Then restart L4. It should index automatically.
I agree with the other poster about malware and RAM requirements. Also, you need to have several gigabytes of free space on your C: drive for indexing to work properly (unless you do a non-standard installation).

Richard, thanks for this bit of information. I had this idea when I first saw his post at 6:15 but because I feel such a newbie I did not post. Well, from now on...I will.

I'm not having any trouble with Windows 7 32 bit. Didn't take me any time to get it re-installed when I got the new computer. Core 2 Dual 4 gigs Ram, 165 gigs HD.

In addition to what Richard suggests there is a bible index C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\{random
numbers]\BibleIndex, which gets indexed before the library index.However, Michael, I'd like to see some logs to determine what is going on - Diagnostic Logging and Uploading Logs. Ensure you upload the logs before you restart L4.

Michael;
I can't supply any software help here however I am using Windows 7 64 bit, with C++ and have only had 1 issue where indexing would'nt run and after a deleted the index files and restarted, my system did performed a complete index without any problems (although this took a very long time). Since that time I have not had any issues so I expect that support should be able to help you.
One question, did your system come with Windows 7 or did you upgrade? if you upgraded then I expect that all of your hardware is supported with 7. My laptop came with 7 but my desktop was upgraded and I had several issues with it until I replaced my video card which wasnt supported on 7. Now both systems are working fine.
