Mac Desktop Version - Moving To A Different Hard Drive For Just The App Or The App and Library

I have a MacBook Pro and am trying the free version of Verbum. So I have little in the library. I have removed the DVD drive of my MacBook Pro and there is a Hard Disk Drive there now. I store media on it - pictures, music and movies. The operating system is on a Solid State Drive in the regular disk drive bay. All applications, including the free Verbum are on the SSD with the operating system. But there is only 16GB free on this SSD so I couldn't go to even the Starter package with it's 30GB space requirement on this SSD. I don't see any way in the app to specify a different drive for the library than the one the application is on. So is that not possible? Do I just drag the entire application over to the HDD? Are the library files in the same bundle as the application? Or would I need to move those from some other location? (If so, where are they?)

Thank you - this was very helpful and pretty much what I was expecting. It does seem ludicrous given the size of the library that the software wouldn't out of the box have a configuration item to specify where you want to store the library.

I'm currently "test driving" the free Logos version on my Mac. (Heavily invested in Accordance up to now.) I'm thinking very seriously about the Starter package for Verbum, but that's 30GB by itself and my Mac's SSD with OS X on it only has 16GB free. I'm afraid as soon as I go to install Verbum's program it will immediately start to download the new library before I can get the instructions you provided above carried out. I would assume the program needs to launch at least once to create the folders in the locations the instructions tell you to move and create links to. I just don't want it to lock up my system by immediately launching and trying to download a library that won't fit on the SSD where the application itself is going to live.

I'm afraid as soon as I go to install Verbum's program it will immediately start to download the new library before I can get the instructions you provided above carried out.

You can stop the download by clicking the Notification (top right) and selecting "Cancel download" (allow a small percentage to complete before doing this). Then exit the application and make the folder changes. Restart the computer and Logos, and it should download and use the new folders.

Personally have two Faithlife accounts: one has an order total of $ 0.00 (Basic packages plus free books and some coupons) that uses 5 GB of internal SSD space on a 2011 MacBook Air. My primary account has 82 GB of resource files on external USB (too big for internal 128 GB SSD that has 27 GB free). Have learned to monitor size of LibraryIndex folder since Indexing needs enough free space to duplicate LibraryIndex (19.34 GB) plus ~2 GB for temporary files.

Thankful Basic packages include some Bibles with Reverse Interlinear tagging (e.g. Lexham English Bible) so can use my favorite feature of visual filter highlighting to "see" range of Greek verbal expression => https://wiki.logos.com/Extended_Tips_for_Highlighting_and_Visual_Filters#Examples_of_visual_filters
