Printing a grammatical layout (English)

Shortcut help, please! I'm a newbie here.

How can I print a grammatical layout? Not from my own text, but any good English translation.

I want to help younger Bible students begin learning to study from paper/by hand.

One Bible chapter at a time would be fine, although ideally a whole book at a time.

Can you provide a bit more information about what you are looking for?

Presumably not something like in the Visualisation resources (such as below) as I think you are looking for something based on the English translation not original languages

In the 'olden days' (mid-1980s) I majored in Bible/Theology and every single study we did began with an English grammatical layout like the one attached.

We did them by hand.

I was hoping, after several decades of Bible software development, the translators/Bible publishers and software developers had created some way in which these could be generated automatically. After all, the way an English sentence is laid out is not controversial, or debatable, but is simple, like a math problem.

Just very time consuming to do by hand.

I have an image of what I'm talking about (it's known as Reed-Kellogg diagram), but I'm not seeing the paper clip icon for attaching it to this reply.

There is a document type in Logos - called Sentence Diagram - that allows us to generate these, but they aren't included in the software.

A Logos user has created a number of such diagrams - available in https://faithlife.com/logos-sentence-diagrams/documents - you need to "Follow" the group before you can see them and download them

After decades of generous collaborative building of many free resources that formed the foundation of the Internet, how sad that christians, by contrast, make foundational tools such as these so incredibly difficult to access. It's down to who you know, how much money you have, and how much spare time you have to track it down. It doesn't need to be this way.

That's ok. I'll do it the old school way and continue sharing whatever I come up with for free, as has been happening in other parts of the church for 2,000 years already, starting with the apostles.

I don't quite understand this - the link I provided was to somewhere where a (mainly one) Logos user has created these documents and shared them at no cost to everyone else.

I know it's not a complete set but it is a generous offering

Sorry - I've just noted that the diagrams are based on the Greek text.

I'm not aware of others that have been generated / made available in English.

Recognizing Lynn’s needs are not this, but the closest automated english diagramming for non-specialists (Bible class) is the Lexham Syntactic NT, with just the english displayed. Very useful in visually untangling the sentences, especially the epistles.

The 'paper clip' finally showed up on my end so I can now add a file as an example of a very basic Reed-Kellogg diagram.

Lynn, I prefaced by noting it's not what you're looking for, but here, for info. My Logos is offline, so I took a fuzzy picture; if you need better, Graham's PC is great.

- The indentations are clausal. Not your goal, but the traditional horizontal grammar line gets busy really quick, with NT sentences outside the gospels.

- The example, I kept the clausal descriptors turned on, and turned off the morph/grammar codes. User choice, along with 6 other choices

- Printable thru the usual Logos print-panel (and export as needed).
