These are my notes of updates and additions I would like to see - even if it takes some work on the part of users who care about a particular feature.
Interactives:
Those needing expansion:
- Bible People Visual Timelines: These can be very useful in teaching but need many more individuals so it isn't a hit and miss and miss and miss opportunity.
- Bible Outline Explorer: Many commentaries have finer distinctions that are more useful than the ones currently appearing here. Please continue to work adding outlines ... or allow users to help/do.
- Bible Event Navigator: Appears to believe absolutely nothing happened between the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the annunciation. Please add the deuterocanonical books' events... or allow users to help/do.
- Israelite Feasts and Sacrifices: Appears to believe absolutely no sacrifices were offered between the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the annunciation. Please add the deuterocanonical books' sacrifices... or allow users to help/do.
- Miracles of the Bible: Appears to be ignorant of the history behind the feast of Hannakuk. Please add the deuterocanonicals.
- Narrative Character Maps: These could become very useful but its rather a waste of time to teach others to use because without many more individuals so it isn't a hit and miss and miss and miss opportunity.
Suggested additions (yes, I note that I am responsible for an embarrassingly high percentage of these.):
- "A List of OT passages interpreted messianically in the Rabbinical writings" (352 references) (http://christianthinktank.com/messiah.html ) See https://community.logos.com/forums/p/134475/876652.aspx
- "One glaring omission in the current array of interactive that assist in finding and selecting Biblical passages is parables" (http://catholic-resources.org/Bible/Parables-Vocabulary.html ) See https://community.logos.com/forums/p/125366/817013.aspx Note that we were informed this was in the works Apr. 18, 2016
- Point/Counterpoint See https://community.logos.com/forums/p/142293/901217.aspx
- Use of Jesus tradition (Gospels) in epistles See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/134949.aspx
- Datatype interactive (index) See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/118654.aspx
- Bible parallels/Deuterographs http://store.carta-jerusalem.com/religion/37-parallels-in-the-bible-9789652208095.html See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/103346.aspx
- Messianic Prophecy interactive based on Edersheim See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/124731.aspx
- All of Jesus commands See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/113773.aspx
- Break word into morphemes tool similar to transliteration.
- A visualization of cross-references color-coding the relationship between the base verse and the cross-reference - think a navigatable web. (Okay, this may still be a pipe dream but it's MY pipe dream)
- Type/antitype using standard reference lists ... (yes, they get carried away but I can handle it).
Modification:
- I would like to see the pericope comparison transferred from Passage Analysis to the interactive scheme because it fits well with the parallel passages and outline comparison. Note there are some Bibles with pericopes that need to be added to this tool.
I hate it when Faithlife has a good idea that it carries out only partway before running off on another cool idea so I intend to become a nag if necessary.
