Doing wrong -- Marks??

I have opened my NIV and found the marks along the sidebar. 

 

I do not want these marks.  I opened program settings and saw the following settings.  ( I thought these would be correct).

 

Since these seem to be wrong....what do I need to do to take out those side marks in the Bible ?

These marks will also show if you have a search active in any tab (even if the tab is buried behind another tab), regardless of these settings.

You need to set these two settings to No:

Auto bookmarks (gray) show your recent history in the resource.
Favorite bookmarks (blue) show the position of any saved Favorites in the resource.
Search bookmarks (orange) show the position of search hits in the resource.

Visual cues are something else (they are the orange circles that show where a reference has linked to).
