Does the new version of Logos 4 for the Mac use multithreading

Will the the new version take advantage of the power of the i5 or i7 on the newest Macs. I was told at the Apple store, if it didn't, then I would be better off with more memory and the regular processor on the iMacs versus the Power Mac or the high end iMacs with i5 or i7. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

And will it run in 64-bits? Right now it does not appear to, so I'm guessing it won't and am curios to know why not since that's the direction everything's moving.

I can't answer as to whether L4 is multi-threaded or not. Your other question has two answers.
The new i series (i3, i5, i7) is a more efficient processor than the older Core2Duos. That means that if you take an i5 and a C2D that are both clocked at the same speed (e.g. 2.4 Ghz or something), the i5 will be "faster", snappier, do more work, etc.
On the other hand, assuming you have a set budget and can only purchase EITHER an i5/i7 mac OR upgrade the RAM in an older Mac.
Since the new imacs come with 4Gb of RAM standard, the performance question is, does L4 get more of a performance boost from having a better processor or more than 4Gb of RAM?
I suspect it's the first, since generating reports and running searches and such are all processor dependent. I'd go for a better processor over 8Gb of RAM, given mys suspicions about processor dependency and since you can always add more RAM later.

Logos 4, on both Windows and Mac, is multi-threaded and will take advantage of multiple cores on multi-core processors such as the Core i5 and the Core i7.
Strictly speaking, it's likely already using multiple cores on whatever CPU you currently have (Core Duo or Core2 Duo or Xeon), unless it's one of the few Core Solo Mac Mini models, which are the only single-core Macs that are even capable of running Logos 4 Mac.
Also, 8GB of RAM vs. 4 GB of RAM isn't going to make much of a difference to Logos 4 Mac specifically, though it may help with overall performance when attempting to run other apps alongside Logos 4 Mac.

Logos 4 Mac on a Core i7 + 4GB of RAM should outperform Logos 4 Mac on a Core2 Duo + 8GB of RAM.

So... why is it not running in 64 bit???

Currently, Mono runtime does not support x86-64 for Mac OS X:

Also noticed Apple's USB driver and iTunes 32 bit.

On Quad Core i7, sometimes saw 410% CPU usage while Logos 4 indexing.
Observation: 21.5" and 27" iMac's have 4 memory slots - can upgrade to 16 GB RAM.
