Manually add clipping?

I use the Clippings feature a lot as I'm gathering research for my sermon. Sometimes I come up with an idea (illustration, etc) that I want to put into my clippings file, but I don't know how to manually create a new clipping (the Add Clipping button is greyed out unless I have text in a resource selected).

Is there a way to do this easily? My only success so far has been to select text in a resource, choose Add Clipping, delete the text out of the clipping and then add my own stuff.

Thanks!

Not an answer to your question directly, but I assume that you've noticed the notes area on clippings. Back to your question, I believe that the answer is no, that notes are intended for your own entries and clippings are intended for quotations.
