Heavy CPU Usage in L4Mac

The CPU usage on my Macbook Pro with 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processors consistently ranges between 98-180%.
Is this expected behavior at this point or something that should be investigated?
For reference, Parallels running L4 in Windows 7 averages around 5%.

This was addressed in the forums several weeks (months) ago. I believe the answer is "yes", it is expected and is "not a bad thing".

Thanks for the link, Roger.
The difference between my issue and the issues on that post is that my CPU usage ranges between 98-180% when the program is by all appearances in an idle state with no indexing, running passage guides, or doing anything else.
When the indexer runs, it maxes out both cores but the app itself stays under 15% or so.
When the indexer finishes and closes, the app ramps up to a much higher range and stays there alternating between non-responsive and responsive states even without any user interaction.
I can leave my computer for an hour or so and the app will continue to utilize the same percentages of CPU.
Currently, keeping L4Win open in Parallels requires less system resources than L4Mac.

Perhaps you should post your log files. Something seems out of the ordinary.

Jack,
Thanks for confirming that you are not having this problem.
Here are my logs.

Also, here is a crash report that the OS generated upon exiting L4.

Russ,
It looks like your SyncManager is overly-active due to a bug. Try this:
1) Close Logos 4
2) Delete /Users/<your_user_id>/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/<random>/LocalUserPreferences and UserPreferences folders.
3) Restart Logos 4
4) "Sync Now" in the command bar.
This should reset your preferences and fix the issue.

Tom,
Thanks, that fixed the CPU issue.
It still takes around 480 MB of memory.
Will that be addressed with future optimization?
Also, I need to merge indexes. Is it ok to do that in the current alpha?

That fix has really made a difference in overall performance!
Everything is much more responsive.

Yes. I did it with A18 just the other day. I will warn you though that due to some changes in the indexing code for some upcoming features which were checked in today, A19 will require a full reindex anyway.
