All seven levels of Faithlife Connect include:

Logos Cloud: Study the Word with Logos books and features. Each Connect level is consistent with the current levels of Logos Cloud.
Faithlife TV Plus: Watch all that Faithlife TV Plus has to offer. (Premium channels and movies are extra.)
Faithlife Courses: Access up to eight Mobile Ed courses of your choosing every year. (Depends on subscription level).
Featured Book: Get month-long access to one resource selected by Faithlife every month. Receive a discount code to purchase that resource when the month is over.
Exclusive Discounts: Shop exclusive sales only available to Connect subscribers.

Some Faithlife Connect levels include access to:

Faithlife Ebooks: Redeem monthly codes for one Lexham/Kirkdale Press title and one classic Christian book to own.
2% Reward on purchases: Receive a promo code of 2% of purchases made in the previous year. Codes will be distributed in February 2019 for purchases in 2018. Restrictions will apply.

How Faithlife Connect affects Logos Now and Logos Cloud customers

Because this product includes many of the same features and benefits of both Logos Now and Logos Cloud, we’re migrating everyone who has a subscription to Logos Now and Logos Cloud to a subscription to Faithlife Connect. We’ll transition Logos Cloud and Logos Now customers into Faithlife Connect over the next day or so as we configure things on the back end. All active subscribers will retain their Logos Now/Cloud benefits through their subscription period.

Each customer’s situation is unique, and we’ll be sure to send you the details of what Faithlife Connect means for you specifically. I agree with Keith. I don't want cloud... Never had and never will. But to keep the other things I have I'll have to move to the second tier for $20. I'm guessing that is what will pay for the 2%

It does seem like Faithlife are charging twice as much for stuff we already have at half the price. It looks like I am going to give it a go for the trial but it looks very much like faithlife are losing my subscription. I hope they can retain half of their existing membership so they can at least break even!

If I understand correctly, you simply would want to go to the Connect Essentials level. Correct? If so, then yes, you could call into Customer Service and they can help you with that. However, I would encourage you to wait until you receive your email to make that decision.

Unfortunately this is how I am feeling. I hope that faithlife get their act together quickly and with luck the e-mails will clarify that we are not being used as a way of increasing profit. If this wasn't an organisation run on christian principles I would just assume the marketing team have come up with a way of manufacturing a need and then exploiting the need to increase revenue at the expense of their customer base. I am of course reserving any thoughts about faithlife, them being based on christian principles and us being christian and all ..

I don't feel betrayed. FL doesn't owe me anything.

It's within their right to change the benefits of the subscription whenever they want. (They added benefits in our favor -- we got a free book each month, temporary FL TV subscription, a $50 coupon, and so on, so let's not forget how they've rewarded us to compensate for any decrease in the LN value.)

Having said that, I do see it this new offering as a money grab. I do think the price increase makes it very difficult for me to remain loyal to or supportive of this subscription offering.

I have no problems with the company or the software. I hope they continue to do well, since we've all made large investments in the Logos ecosystem.

In all seriousness, I think they've done me (and my wallet) a favor. I can probably manage without an LN subscription, or buying L8 libraries or feature sets.

Well this is a disappointment, another subscription plan with even higher costs. Don't get too excited about this one, in 3 years it will be replaced. Frequent flier miles then? Why so complicated? SEVEN LEVELS? How many posts have their been trying to understand the value of Logos Now, and this is quite a bit more complicated! Do we need a new forum for those questions?

Faithlife must think we have nothing better to do than try and figure out all their marketing plans. This is not good news as far as I am concerned. I guess spending over six figures on Logos/Faithlife products over the years isn't enough of an investment.

Can anyone point to posts that highlight these features as being something requested by USERS? I was thinking about Faithlife when I saw Apple was going to put a real focus on bug fixing and performance improvement in their next iteration of their operating systems - I wished Faithlife would do the same. I am still amazed at some of the clunkiness in usability of the software, they just don't have time do deal with it because it doesn't make them enough money. I think about the bugs that have been reported here for YEARS, the voters choice things that get ignored, it doesn't matter - what matters is what Faithlife wants. IMHO the is an example of "We need to charge more per month - so what can we load into a subscription that sounds substantial?"

Once Faithlife makes getting all the features only accessible through a high monthly cost, I suspect I am done for good. It's just not that positive a relationship anymore when everything you ask for gets ignored, and this punch in the gut comes along. Their customer relationship had caused my buying to drop 90%, and believe me, it would not have if I felt they treated me like a customer who has bought a lot of their product. Oh yeah, including that great deal on the EEC commentary set, which has been delayed what, TEN YEARS from the original commitment dates? I hope my (and other peoples') investments in that deal have kept the company going. I wish I would have at least gotten a $3 credit to a future purchase for my trouble. I fully expect now not to be alive when the set is completed, if ever. How is that a good deal for customers, and why does it continue that way?

I think your whole e-mail sums up my feeling. I've spent thousands on books but I feel this is just being forced upon us to make money rather than meet any genuine need I have. I have looked and I have over $10K in orders on pre-pub and community pricing and I an feeling like cancelling the lot! I'm going to wait for the e-mail tomorrow but I think tomorrow afternoon may se me being busy hitting cancel several hundred times.

Chris, did this question get overlooked? I'm curious to know if there will be any equivalent library/feature set discounts offered by Faithlife Connect.

(Also since Faithlife Connect offers monthly pricing, will the monthly price tiers also provide discounts? It seems that LN moved to annual to prevent people from subscribing to LN for one month to save on their library/base package purchase.)

You'll continue to enjoy these discounts on Logos 7 base packages. We don't have all the details figured out for Logos 8 yet, but we'll likely have special discounts available for Connect subscribers.

I remember the discussion 2 years ago, that if you get off the Now train, your features are gone. Hopefully you made it up on discounts.

Luckily, you have a choice to buy new more expensive Connect tickets to stay on the train (digging yourself deeper), or consider the ownership model. I'd bet the crossgrade price will go up a bunch, this fall. Bet.

I purchased Logos Now primarily for full access to the Logos 7 features. I had no need for the public domain free books or Faithlife TV subscription (since it doesn't come with Mobile Ed). Yet, I felt the previous price was affordable.

Faithlife Connect (Starter) offers less for less. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pay double ($20/mth) to get the full Bible study toolset.

I now feel that I would've been better off sticking to the ownership model (i.e. purchasing the Logos feature sets). This is a somewhat disappointing maneuver by FL.

Faithlife you have totally lost the plot if you think i am going to pay twice as much to get access to less, particularly when I have no need for cloud at all when I would already own everything in cloud. I am not paying to rent something I already own on top of getting access to less. This decision is even more woeful than the one when you left it up to a junior employee to announce you were looking at introducing a dating service - The name Faithlife Connect in fact sounds like a dating service. There is nothing exciting about this program. I am still in shock that you came up with this and thought as customers we would be excited about it in anyway shape or form.

You have just stabbed in the back your long term loyal customers who have supported you over many years and built up large libraries in the process of supporting this business. Please reconsider this decision and give those who were happy to support the ongoing development of the software through that means the option to continue to do so, some of us simply do not want to pay to rent books we already own but do want to support ongoing development of the software.

This has to be an early April fools joke because I still cannot believe you think you are doing something that is of benefit to your loyal customers.

I only want the Logos features as they are developed. That's my sole reason for subscribing to Now. The other bits were an appreciated addition but I would pay the price just for the updates. I cannot pay double the current price for that privilege going forward and I doubt the value in the partial set on the lower tier based on the rollout of features under Now in the past. I may throw the special thanks at a couple years of Connect Lite to see how it goes. But I'm not happy losing the new features. I would've paid a bit more to keep the feature updates, but no where near double, it doesn't add up.

I continue to be grateful for Logos and I understand that they need to develop their business.

But like many others I feel that it's a shame that we now need to pay more in order to continue using the same tools. That makes the subscription model unattainable to me, so I will probably end up using my $200 discount to purchase the L7 Full Feature Set.

I'm not sure where to start. I wrestled with canceling LN this year and just buying the data sets but decided that the free book of the month was enough to keep me interested. I love my Logos Bible software but wished I had the foresight to buy the data sets and get out last month before I renewed my subscription. I will not pay the $200 for Faithlife Connect.

The email that was sent to me out of the blue did nothing to help me understand this new program, created more questions than information and just plain confused me. It would seem to me that a basic marketing skill would be to anticipate your customers questions and concerns. Issues like, you say there are 7 tiers of of subscription. What are they? What do they include? What is the price?

Like others I subscribed to LN for features and updates and was happy to help pay for the development of the software. But with Faith connect I have no interest in Faithlife TV, Logos Cloud, or Faithlife Ebooks. I’m disappointed that it seems an all or nothing deal. So with that in mind I will not renew my subscription and purchase the features that I don’t have and let it go at that. I hope that Logos 8 is not moving toward in all subsciptions model. Owning the tools of my trade is important to me.

Thank you Graham for that information but as I recall it was not forth coming in the email that was sent. I can appreciate that the packages may change over time but if you want people to consider a major investment of their money it would be incumbent to provide more detail than not. This whole thing just seems to be rolled out incomplete and without the necessary thought.

Check your subscriptions. I did and found the FaithLife subscription set to auto renew. If you are not careful you may end up paying for something you don't want.

I don't post much. But, I have been a Logos user since around 1995. I purchased Now mainly for the Logos 7 features and I appreciate the free books etc.

I am not going to participate in Connect. More money I can't afford and less real value. Once my subscription to Now expires this November I will be force to walk away after 23+ years.

I'm a retiree and a layperson. The cost has now outpaced the value for me. And that saddens me.

I just received a download this morning of 42 temporary books in my library that I didn't already have. I think it is related to the Faithlife Connect Starter subscription that I've been switched to. If that's the case, then I already own 55 of the books that's included in that plan. Without dynamic pricing, I'm paying for books I already own. On top of that, I'm not interested in the books that were downloaded.

I don't like the idea that someone else is deciding which books I need. I'd rather have a plan that allows me to select which books I get and whether or not I rent or buy.

To me, temporary books (aka renting books) is for research analysts who only need the resources for a particular project and not afterwards. I study daily and proclaim and explain the Scriptures weekly. If a resource helps me do that today, then I should have it available tomorrow, so I buy it. I use notes a lot, so having the resource in my library keeps the integrity of the notes intact and their context and related information available.

Of course it is the natural progression of any subscription-based service. Rent never goes down, only up. Good analogy. I remember that I started out paying $20 a month for cable TV, and now pay $125 per month, with no premium movie channels. (On the other hand, I do have a multiple room DVR, and there is certainly a time factor involved.)

I was not even interested in Logos Now, and I am surely not interested in this. The last thing I want is a monthly bill for my library books. I would be more inclined to use that monthly fee for a payment to own books that I select, rather than to rent them, which what this amounts to doing. And you do not even get to choose what books you renting. Absurd!

Maybe this will work out for Logos. They better hope that not many of the customers are like me. I do not accuse Logos of betrayal. It is a business decision, and I wish them well. I will continue to buy my books from Logos (mostly). I certainly wish them well. They are a great company, and they are great people. But as for any subscription service, thanks, but no thanks. May be a great fit for someone else.

Help me to understand this. Isn't logos cloud disappearing and being replaced by Faithlife Connect? The ultimate package comes with 2,737 books. What if I was a new customer, owned nothing, but wanted 10,000 books to rent. Where is that offering? How does that work?

Logos Cloud is disappearing as a standalone offering. It's available now only bundled inside Faithlife Connect. So it's still around, just not available on its own any more.

What if I was a new customer, owned nothing, but wanted 10,000 books to rent. Where is that offering? How does that work?

We don't have that offering. Collector's has about 5,000 titles. Logos Cloud and Faithlife Connect only go up to Ultimate, which is equivalent to Logos 7 Portfolio. If you want to go beyond that, you'll need to buy additional content on top of what you get with Ultimate.

There are several issues going on here...

1. Logos has to embrace the subscription model. To Bob's defence, he has been talking about it for many years and we see this happening in the world around us in many instances. The transition, particularly for users that have invested 5 figure sums and are now subscribing to content they have already paid for is going to be a challenge. This will be a very interesting case study in some years to come.

2. The perceived value of Logos Now to Faithlife Connect starter and price point is way inferior. I have yet to read a post from someone who was bought into the Logos Now concept that feels like this is a product enhancement. I think we are going to have to chalk this up to we were getting a really good deal and we have to embrace a new economic reality and product model.

3. The concept of new features being the 'entire value' and the 'tail was wagging the dog' (Bob's words) of the Logos Now product I assert is a bit overstated. Logos created a 'Member's Club' which we bought into and now the club is being closed. I respectfully suggest that Logos has indexed into the wrong issue and missed the product loyalty. Also as a subtext, if you read some of the posts it is clear that some subscribed to Logos Now for the feature set and other reasons. (I did)

I can imagine the coffee room discussion at Logos right now. This is just another storm that the Logos users are fussing about in regards to change... Just as when we closed the Logos usenet groups, axed Logos for Mac at version 1.x, Mac product instability and bugs through version 4.x, etc., lack of clarity when base package philosophy changed at version 5, the parting of ways with Galaxie journals, etc. users were a little crazy on the forums. I have to say this feels different. I am a little disappointed by what I have read in the last 24 hours. I think us users that rode the development of Logos and fuelled their growth through buying pre-pubs over the years will have to accept a new reality. Before now, who heard of many users spending five figure sums on Bible software?!?

The economics are changing and we need to adapt. Spending a baseline of $20/month to maintain what I currently have, along with buying the occasional book here and there is part of that reality. Newer users may find this easier to do because they have not invested so much, but for those of us that have, we will need to find what will work for us. I have said it in another thread, I fully expect Logos 8 to be intertwined with Faithlife Connect and even be discounted as parts of packages as the mix of 'transactional' and subscription are worked out.

Change is coming... and the loyal fanbase which is in effect stockholders of Logos will need to adapt. The lack of parity between Logos Now and Faithlife Connect Starter is a clear signal of what we need to crunch our numbers over and figure out new investment strategies on what we will buy going forward.

In closing, Bob and the team are great people. No personal attacks intended.

There are several issues going on here...

1. Logos has to embrace the subscription model. To Bob's defence, he has been talking about it for many years and we see this happening in the world around us in many instances. The transition, particularly for users that have invested 6 figure sums and are now subscribing to content they have already paid for is going to be a challenge. This will be a very interesting case study in some years to come.

2. The perceived value of Logos Now to Faithlife Connect starter and price point is way inferior. I have yet to read a post from someone who was bought into the Logos Now concept that feels like this is a product enhancement. I think we are going to have to chalk this up to we were getting a really good deal and we have to embrace a new economic reality and product model.

3. The concept of new features being the 'entire value' and the 'tail was wagging the dog' (Bob's words) of the Logos Now product I assert is a bit overstated. Logos created a 'Member's Club' which we bought into and now the club is being closed. I respectfully suggest that Logos has indexed into the wrong issue and missed the product loyalty. Also as a subtext, if you read some of the posts it is clear that some subscribed to Logos Now for the feature set and other reasons. (I did)

I can imagine the coffee room discussion at Logos right now. This is just another storm that the Logos users are fussing about in regards to change... Just as when we closed the Logos usenet groups, axed Logos for Mac at version 1.x, Mac product instability and bugs through version 4.x, etc., lack of clarity when base package philosophy changed at version 5, the parting of ways with Galaxie journals, etc. users were a little crazy on the forums. I have to say this feels different. I am a little disappointed by what I have read in the last 24 hours. I agree with every point you've made here! The roll out is simply frustrating, but it ultimately looks like we are either 1) Going back to the way things used to be where we make our purchases with new up grades (assuming there is indeed parity between purchase and subscription), or 2) we buy into a subscription. For me personally, the subscription doesn't make sense, but that's okay, I can go back to the way things used to be; however, if there is not parity between the two models, then I will indeed be (not just feel) slighted.

The most important thing for me is that Logos stays viable, and if they have to get rid of Logos Now to stay that way, then I am good with that. Bob's long post should have been the first thing we saw regarding this change.

I have been with it since 1995- but 2018 ends my relationship with Logos- Oct. 2018 to be exact when the current Logos Now subscription ends. None of the so-called Connect interest me at all, since upgrading to L8 is not going to happen- nor buying any further packages.

I will keep the forums going for a while to monitor what's happening with L7, but I imagine it will not be to long before they drop keeping L7 up to date in order to force the movement into L8. At that point there may be no need to even maintain contact with the company.

I have already made multiple backup files which includes all my Logos and PBB resources, just saying better prepared than getting caught with your pants down- like now.

I'm very disappointed in this. I believe i have bought every version of Logos since 1995/96. I even had the floppy disk version that came out of DTS and the Logos Map Set on 3.5 disks. I bough the monthly subscription to Now and then let it drop when they went to yearly only. I finally went back to Now the last week of November last year. I also bought the Logos 7 starter feature set. and I finally bought Silver in December which I had been avoiding as in the early years I bought so many books ala carte that I had overlap.

I wish I knew then what I know now. May have don it differently. I'm most likely don with subscription as I'm not interested in several of the Connect features.

FYI: Logos should look to NetBrains to see how they do their subscriptions as they do it right. When you subscribe to one of their IDEs they give you a perpetual license to the current version. So if you stop the subscription you can fall back to that perpetual license at the version that was current when you bought/renewed the subscription. You never lose access you just don't have the newest features when the subscription lapses.

We, the buyers + renters, are stakeholders. Bob, you should have put that long statement out + then stayed with the forums, reading + answering, for day one, then come back for day two to do more of the same.

I believe it was [+ is] your responsibility to us customer-stakeholders to do this: to clear your calendar + have the courage + commitment to be with us through the fray.

You will have permanent ownership. We will distribute codes for you to use and choose which books you want to use. Once you "purchase" that book with your code, its yours forever.
