Anticipating but frustrated with Indexing on a Mac

I'm sure as I can already see there is a lot of frustration in the community regarding the indexing process for Mac. I've been at it for almost two days now. I was down to 33 minutes last night (almost happy) and now I'm back to 2 hrs remaining this morning (not so sad because it's a beautiful day in Napa).

Does it ever actually complete the indexing process? Anyone? If not it seems that we'll have to just wait for the software updates.

Yes, there is light at the end of the long, dark indexing tunnel. My computer isn't indexing (and only does when it downloads new/updated stuff). [:)]

A few things to keep in mind: if your computer goes to sleep, indexing stops. If you shut down/restart your computer indexing must start all over (if it has never completed) Indexing progress can be monitored by opening the indexer.log file in /Users/<yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Logos 4/Logging

You can also post your log files so the devs can take a look and see if the indexer has hung up on a certain resource. Instructions are here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx

You may well be aware of it, but just in case you don't there's a little applet that a fair number of folks are using to keep their computers awake, without changing all the sleep settings. It's freeware and it's called Caffeine. You can download it at http://lightheadsw.com/
