Hello all, I hope all is well. I have a question, can you install Logos 7 on an external hard drive and if so, how would I go about doing that? I have Logos 7.13. Running it on a MacBook Pro 2016. I want to put Logos on an external SSD. Thanks.
There isn't a supported way to do this on Mac. There are instructions on the wiki, however: https://wiki.logos.com/Install_in_different_folder_or_drive#macOS
I should add... I think there is a different way to do this, which probably WOULD be supported... You would need to install OSX on to the external drive and boot from it. One of the full fledged techies can let us know if I am right.

FYI: personally have an older 2011 MacBook Air (MBA) with 128 GB internal SSD (has 26.9 GB Logos 4 folder and 24.7 GB free) with external 128 GB USB Drive (81.6 GB of Resources and 4.7 GB of WebCache). Total Logos 7 storage usage is 113.2 GB that is too much for internal 128 GB SSD. Caveat: carrying MBA in car provided quick exit opportunity when opening door, which broke a previous USB drive. Buying external USB was less expensive than buying new Mac with larger internal SSD.
Note: macOS could be installed on external SSD along with Logos in a supported configuration (everything resides in one storage partition).

Are you saying that you use an external hard drive for logos?
Yes because internal SSD in my 2011 MacBook Air is too small for my Logos library. Hence, have used steps to Relocate your Resources folder and Relocate your WebCache folder so my unsupported configuration has two Logos folders on an external USB drive (so internal SSD has most of my application database files plus enough free space for indexing).

Apple Disk Utility can copy storage partitions. Several blogs have directions for creating bootable USB with macOS installer, which includes Disk Utility. Thankful can power up Mac (or restart) with option key held down so internal and external devices are scanned for bootable partition(s). When list of bootable partition(s) appears, can release option key followed by choosing desired partition to boot up (becomes mounted as root file system). Booting up USB installer allows Disk Utility on USB to be used for copying primary boot partition between internal and external devices (if needed, can also format storage).
