I've spent the last few days trying to sort out for myself what the move from Logos Now to Faithlife Connect means for me.  I've read quite a few of the posts about it and decided to share my thoughts in the hope it might be helpful for others, recognizing that each person's situation is different.

A little background - I have been a Logos user since 2.0 and have a substantial library.  I subscribed to Logos Now almost 2 years ago, primarily as a reasonably priced way of have full access to the new features and datasets, and to get new ones as they were available rather than waiting for 8.0 to be released.

Now for my thoughts -

What I have lost:

Despite my initial reaction of surprise and unhappiness, I have come to realize that the only thing I have lost is the ability to renew the subscription for what I wanted at the same price ($99.00/yr.).  I think that having this expectation suddenly made impossible is one of the things that upset me.  One the other hand, Faithlife has given me everything I have already paid for.

What I have gained:

Faithlife has extended my access to the Logos Now benefits from April, when my subscription runs out, to November 12 at no additional charge.

In addition, I have the Faithlife Connect Starter benefits until April - not longer since I have decided not to renew.  I just don't find FaithlifeTV that interesting.  If I had more time I might make use of the Courses - I did take advantage of one as my free course for 6 months.

I have also received a coupon code which I can use to pay for the Feature set when Logos 8 comes out, so that I will not lose access to this when my subscription runs out.

In short, I can't complain.  The way this change was made could have been handled better, and I can hope that some way of making the new datasets and features available without all the other things can be worked out at a reasonable price.

I've come to pretty much the same conclusion, Leigh - thanks for putting it so well [:)]

The $100-200 is a typical marketing trick. It's given so that you can spend it to buy more of their products... hoping that you would spend more than just $100-200.. in turn, giving them more profit. It is different than them giving us $200 money into our checking account (cash).

In marketing.. the longer you spend time with the product, the more money you'll spend with that product. So by giving you the enticement, they hope you spend more money because you spend time looking at the products.

It's basically store credit (not cash) for you to spend more than $100-200. It's also can become extra income for them. (also to appease your guilty/anger feeling). *it plays with your emotion..."oh it's not so bad anymore*.. eventhough the plan Logos Connect is still very BAD!

Watch..they increase the price of Logos 8 .... and call it "price market adjustment" .. (your $200 vanish into thin air)

... hope everybody understand what's going on.

If people want their voice to be heard.. you go straight with the flow of money. They will hear money.

If people stop the flow of money, they will change their strategy. That's basic marketing.

If people want logos to change their manipulation, stop subscribing logos connect. Stop the flow of money.

They will hear only to money. Period.
