I noticed today on both of my PCs that when I opened Logos (4.0b SR-2) the indexer icon popped up and disappeared after a few seconds. It did this every time I opened Logos. I searched the forums and found similar problems reported in the beta forums (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/14834/117036.aspx#117036 and http://community.logos.com/forums/p/15319/121437.aspx). I turned on logging to see what was going on and saw the indexer was starting because "1 resources in the Bible index need updating" according to the indexer log. Some posts suggested removing database files, but I rebuilt the bible index instead (Rebuild Bible Index command), and that resolved the problem.
I have been using Logos heavily lately for a Chronicles project, but I have not added any Bible resources. However, I did purchase and download the Introduction to the Old Testament Collection yesterday on both PCs (both successfully indexed), and today I noticed the quirk. I'm not sure why those resources would touch the Bible index, if any did?
Hopefully this post will be helpful if anyone is having the same quirk. I don't know what caused this, but I think this may be a bug. I would be interested in hearing what caused this quirk and if it is being fixed.
