Answer Questions....How?

Hello,

I would really like to see a feature for the home page that enhances the search box such as to search by question. For example." Where did Abraham meet with the angels?" and Logos could search the entire library, not for Abraham or angels in specific (yielding a lot of results), but rather only information concerning that land, culture, position/level/and knowledge of Abraham and particular mission of the angels in this account, at that time, extracting only parts of the particular articles relevant in any given book....providing only the direct information in complete context to that question, giving the viewer a complete custom commentary (or search) for that inquiry only, dictated by a question mark. I am sure this can be critiqued to perfection...this is only to get the idea started...

That would be really cool. A natural language processing feature. Kind of like True Knowledge. Check it out. It knows the answer to your sample question. [:)]

While I think it would be cool, I would hope that most people wouldn't rely on only this feature to find their answers. First it would be very limiting in what it could provide, and second, there is so much fun to be had learning other things you never thought to ask through serendipity by just exploring and searching through your library for some answer to a question you did have. If Logos returned a packaged answer through a NLP feature, some people would be satisfied with that and would look no further. That might be fine for simple answers where you just need the name of Jacob's wives or something fairly straightforward like that (which NLP is great at). But if you ask it a more complex question, you could be lulled into thinking you've found out all you need to know about some subject, when really, if you didn't ask the right question, you might be far afield. I could see such a feature leading ultimately to the dumbing down of Bible study if too many people started relying on it for their research. But for quick answer type questions, I think it would be awesome!

However not strictly so, anymore than the explorer that follows you as you go compared to the passage guide, seeing as how the interlinear and other guides are readily at your disposal. Logos is the best bible software on the planet, and there is no doubt in my mind, considering we have Jesus and the Holy Spirit whereas the world doesn't, that they could come up with (like th unmatchable libronix format) a complex question answering machine that completely disects the library to currently have to an exhaustive degree, far better than a askjeeves or google search (outdated - compared to this idea ). Like now the results would only render according to the library selections you currently own. If you want more info, you will need to buy more resources.
