Dewayne:
What do you have L4 attempting to open to? Do you have it opening to a specific layout? If so does the layout have visual markings in it? Is this reproducible?

I use parallels 95% of the time. So I don't remember exactly what I had it loading. I am pretty sure that I had highlighting showing up in the workspace prior to today's crash. But it has been since last week that I used it. Is there a way to force it to load to a home page or something other than the previous session?
We might have an issue with a book in the layout. Has it opened before? Is there anything in it that is not done in the Mac version? I think you can close the window prior to it finishing opening. After you see the "Preparing your library" go away hit cmd+W and it will close the window that attempts to open. I'm not sure it will work though. Anyway, if it does you will then be able to then go to the 'Go' menu then 'Home'. If you are able to do that try opening the layout again.
Is this even reproducible?

This layout was working the last time I opened it, which was day after it was released. I haven't used it since then. It crashes every time I try to open it. It did index twenty or so books when I opened it today. I don't remember leaving indexing incomplete after the download. But apparently I did. I will try to close the window on start. I did try enabling the open to home page on the PC side to force it to do that on the Mac side, unsuccessfully so far.
I have tried all that you suggested to no avail. The program crashes at the exact same place every time. See the attached log. The console message states that Logos_Bible_Software_4(43189) Exited with exit code: 15661.Logos4.log
I deleted the layouts.db and it started up successfully.
There is an ongoing discussion on the usefulness of the remembered Layouts in the Logos 4 forum. Although I didn't share my opinion there, I have read through it and while looking at my own Layouts, I found that they do not exist. As I mentioned in my previous post, I deleted the layout.db file in order to enable use of the program on the Mac side. But I now see that even after multiple syncs, I do not have any of my layouts that exist on the PC side. I fired up the PC side to see if they still exist, and they do. But they do not exist at all on the Mac side. I just wonder if this is a bug, or an intended result of my actions?
Could you post logs of your sync attempts?

In A20, I still have none of my layouts syncing. However, on the PC side, I opened and re-saved them and they showed up on the Mac. It must have to do with the deletion of that file that caused the hiccup.
So Dewayne, is this problem resolved for you, or does it still need some investigation?

If I understand what you did:
1. Delete layouts.db on Mac
2. Make some changes to layouts on Windows side
3. "Save" the changes and Sync.
Result => Layouts which were modified re-appeared on Mac...
That's the expected behavior, and I checked that with Beta 3 and Logos 4.1 Beta for Windows and that's what happens. If you delete your layouts.db, you'll need to update each layout on Windows to get it to sync back to Mac.

This is a really old issue. I had a computer change since the issue and had to reinstall. I am not having any issues now on Beta 3 and don't remember the last time that I did. I did have another issue on my work computer with syncing and the toolbar shortcuts. I will start another thread regarding that one later this morning. Thanks.
