Delete Libronix 3 (now using Logos 4)

Hi. I've been running Logos 4 for a while now & getting used to it. I've imported my notes & highlights into Logos 4 from Libronix 3 and I need to free up some disc space. So, how do I:

1) Delete the Libronix 3 program?

2) Delete the books, resources etc from Libronix? I have them backed up on an external hard drive should I need them but I believe Logos 4 has the resources in a different folder so am I ok to delete the old ones? Which is the best way of doing this?

Phil,

you can just uninstall Libronix 3 like any other app. L3 and L4 are completely separate.

I'd say that first, before you uninstall L3 sync your licenses in L3 and close and open L4 once or twice.

This makes sure that L4 knows about all of your licenses that you are entitled to.

If you have all of your books in L4 that you know you should have, and you don't need L3 for anything...just uninstall.

I would delete my resources from v3, leave the program, you may need it to add a L3 title into your L4 somewhere down the line, but thats just me.

I'd second that. You can delete your resources by simply deleting the files -- they are all stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources.

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\<random>\ResourceManager\Resources [Vista/Win7]
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\<random>\ResourceManager\Resources [XP]

(The AppData folders is a hidden place) BTW don't every place book files in these folders, you must use the scan command to instruct Logos to copy them here so that it can index new book files.

The easiest way to find them is to right-click on the Logos icon on your Start menu, choose Properties, and click Open File Location. Once you're there, open the Data folder, within which you'll find a randomly named folder, and then inside that look in ResourceManager\Resources.

Keep in mind when deleting Logos 3 resources, if you have ever acquired any Personal Book Builder (PBB) resources, they are NOT supported in Logos 4 right now, so you will lose those resources if you delete them from the L3 resources folder. If you want to check, they have an extension ".lbxoeb".
