Searching NA 28, ancient Manuscripts, LXX, and other ancient writings,... Addin Sentence Diagramming

Hello Logos!

I will be doing many exegesis papers, and I wanted to know the proper steps I need to go about looking up certain passages in ancient manuscripts, the Septuagint, Josephus, Philo, Dead Sea Scrolls... etc.

 

Also, do you have the Nestle Aland 28 on Logos, and can I search it through Logos 4?

 

Also, can I find an easy way to search for one specific word in these documents, and will you show me a word count? For example, could you show me how many times the word "hope" shows up in Josephus?

 

Also, when will the sentence diagramming feature be installed for Mac?  I did purchase the platinum version of Logos 4 for Mac.  I would love to use this program for my exegesis papers I am doing for my seminary degree, and it would make things extremely easier.  Do you know another sentence diagramming tool I can use for a mac computer in the meantime?

I am unaware of NA 28 in any format, let alone Logos. I searched Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, the publisher's website just to check it out and there is no mention of it, so I am presuming that you are referring to NA 27 which is, to the best of my knowledge, the current text. That is available in Logos in several editions. (I have five.)

I am currently completing (within 3 months I trust) a PhD at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. I am doing my thesis in New Testament. At the moment I find Logos 4 Mac not quite up to it for morphological searching but that situation is changing fast. (I expect it will be up to speed in a matter of weeks.) Accordingly, I still use Logos (Libronix) 3 on an ancient windows laptop (Toshiba Tablet M200) which cannot run Logos 4. Of course, I have my Platinum resources available in Logos 3. The Logos 3 search engine is well up to complicated morphological  searches. I have searched NA27, LXX, Philo (Greek text), Josephus (English text); Apostolic Father (Greek text) with absolutely no trouble.

I ran your search for hope in Josephus in Logos 4 Mac with the results you can see in the screenshot:

I use the Lexham texts for syntactical and discourse analysis and also have openbible.org which is better for certain kinds of sentence analysis. I would recommend them for detailed text studies. I also use SESB 3.0 which is for Logos 3 (it but downloads and works on Logos 4 Mac) for text critical work, as it has the full N-A Apparatus.

When Sentence Diagramming will be available, I just don't know.
