1.41 - Favorites don't seem to be working.
Ok, I am just starting to use Favorites on my iPad and things don't seem to be working as expected.
I have a couple of folders and several links to verses saved on L4 B7, none of which show up on my iPad. When I try and save a favorite on my iPad nothing shows up in the favorites screen and only one of the last 5 I have tried show up on my L4 B7 after syncing.
When I create a favorite on L4 B7, I then sync and wait a few moments and restart Logos on the iPad, nothing shows up in the favorites panel
When I create a favorite on the iPad, I do it by swiping from bottom to top, and choosing "add to Favorites". I have tried this on both the NASB and the ESV. Only 1 of 5 have shown up on my L4 B7
Based on a question that Kevin asked yesterday, I deleted the app from my iPad, deleted it from iTunes and re-downloaded the app and re-installed it. In addition to that I have rebooted my iPad.
So, suggestions?

I am having the same problem with my iPod touch - when reading books like 131 Christians you ought to Know, or "The Proper Distinction Between Law and Gospel" and cannot get my iPod touch to save a bookmark.

My iPhone favorites has never worked right.
Just now, I tried to add the ESV as my favorite, the Lutheran Study Bible, Christian Dogmatics by Pieper, and one other one. NONE of them went over to the favorites. I opened the book, did a slide upwards with my finger and selected ADD FAVORITES.
I thought perhaps you do it within L4 and that the iPhone picked up those defaults, but it does not work that way, either.

Not working for me either.

Logos, any suggestions? Is this something that I we need to wait for, or is it supposed to be working now?

Ok, just spoke with Technical Support and got the following information: At this time, the iPhone/iPad synch is one way only. L4 -> iPad/iPhone. This is consistent with how my iPhone and iPad are working.
He did also say that the only real troubleshooting they can do is to uninstall/reinstall. That may be true, but for me, knowing what is supposed to be happening and that Logos has a bug report filed on a particular issue was well worth the trouble of a phone call.

Terry, the information you got from tech support is not entirely accurate. You can add favorites on the iPhone (while online) and they do sync with Logos 4. However, there are several issues with favorites:
- Favorites list does not refresh immediately after adding a favorite
- Workaround: after adding a favorite, wait a few seconds then open favorites from the More tab bar
- Favorites cannot be added at some resource locations
- Favorites added at a reference in the middle of the page are actually created for the first reference on the page
- Workaround: enter the desired reference in the reference box so the desired reference becomes the first on the page
Here's how you can help: I'm having a hard time tracking down the cases where adding a favorite doesn't work. If you can describe where exactly in a resource you try to add a favorite and the action fails, this will help us find and fix the bug. If you could attach a screen shot, that would be even more helpful.

Would love to Dave, I will carve out some time this afternoon.

I had a few minutes so I did one, and didn't get the results that I expected. I added ESV:2tim3.1 from my iPhone, and NASB95:1John1.1 from my L4. Here is what I found.
1. Favorite added from the iPhone propagted up to L4. (This was not happening last Thursday, but is definitely consistently working now)
2. Favorite created on L4 propagated down to the iPhone.
3. Favorite created on iPhone never showed up on the iPhone.
My iphone ened up with 1 favorite (nasb:1jn1.1), my L4.0c B7 ended up with two favorites (nasb:1jn1.1 and esv2tim3.1). No amount of syncing or opening and closing programs changed this total.
I will do some more of these (with screenshots later today).

Well, this is extremely consistent now. Everything that I create on L4 Sync's down. Everything that I create on the iPhone/iPad syncs up, but doesn't show on the iPhone/iPad.
Here you can see the list of favorites that I created on the iPad:
Here is where I created them:
Here is the resulting favorites list on my iPad (iPhone the same):
FYI, I also removed the Logos app from my iPad and computer, re-downloaded it, and re-installed it. Same results. Yet all the favorites that I am creating on L4.0cB7 are now syncing to the iPad with no problems.
If it is of any benefit to you, I can provided you with a packet capture of the traffic to and from the iPad, but I can't post it because of security concerns. I ran the iPhone over the 3G network to make sure my firewall was not a variable, the results from both devices were the same.

Wow, I have never had favorites in my iPhone.
I tried your method as indicated above and here is what I was able to get. For some reason, out of 5 books, I only got one. I know that the Lutheran Study Bible is on my iPhone list, and so is the ESV. I added both of those to my list, but they did not show up.
I went into L4, selected Tools and Favorites. I created a NEW folder, and called it iPhone Favs. Then I opened one book and dragged the icon at the top, to my new folder. Then I opened the library list and just drug the names over to the folder.
When I opened iPhone app, there was ONE listing. No more.
When I have tried this from within the iPhone, I get nothing.

Dan, I added them in L4 using the add button (see below), when I just drag and drop them from my library, they don't show up on the iPhone.
