MIssing Both the NASB and the ESV in my library

I just recently got The Bible Study Library from Logos which included the ESV and NASB. However after downloading and indexing, I have neither. However when taking a look at my iTouch app for Logos, I have both.

Anyone know why, and what I need to do, because I really do not want to download and index all over again for another 4+ hours.

My, not very helpful, answer to your question is to advise that you wait until Monday and see what happens when Alpha 19 comes along.

If you don't want to wait - remember that downloading resources is prompted, at the moment, by restarting L4.

You won't need to download all your stuff again - just the extra bits that you haven't got.

You might be able to get it going by

1. Typing 'Update Resources' in the command line – making sure that it appears in the drop down menu.

2. Clicking on the entry in the drop down menu

3. Restarting Logos

and you might have to do all that with A19 - who knows?

I have the same problem, I had the resources but I reformatted my mac (long story ;-) ), and after reinstalling Logos I'm short 9 resources I had last week.

Using the "Update now" command hasn't made any difference

I do have the older NASB but not the NASB95 version.

I'll give it a couple of days and see if it updates itself.

I sure hope something happens tomorrow when 19 comes out. My library was 400, then 300 then 225, and i just went to use logos and now have 202! Every time I restart it, I lose more and more books.

I have noticed that the NIV bible was missing as well.

I "solved" the problem by using a Time Machine backup from when I had the books. This shouldn't have been necessary to get my books back

Wonder if console messages or log files show something ? Forum http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx has log posting tutorial.

Looked in my Logos 4 resource folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/<random#>/ResourceManager/Resources noticed some recent lbsrvi files - including ESVNT, ESVOT, NASBNT, and NASBOT. Also noticed in indexer.log file "Attempting to replace main index 'supplemental' with new index 'supplemental-build'." Knowing indexing takes hours, decided to "Rebuild index" (already adjusted system preferences so computer never sleeps, but screen backlight does). After "Rebuild index" command clicked, Indexer.log file includes:

| INFO | 4 | BibleIndex | Doing a full re-index because the existing index seems to have been deleted.

Waiting for indexing to complete before using Logos 4.

Observation: A18 indexing 219 bible resources, which is 7 more than A17 so know bible resources added to library in past couple weeks.

Hi Michael

'Exactly' isn't a term that the developers have in their vocabulary especially when it comes to time.

Alpha x is likely to be released once a fortnight when the developers get to work on, what to them is a Monday morning, and what to us (near where I am) is Monday evening. So it depends on where you are.

Alpha x can be delayed because the developers think its release may lead to problems, the developers think they can make it significantly better, or the bus is late.

Alpha x.x can be released at any time because the developers have misjudged one of the two of three above.

A19 did not fix my issue. I am missing books in my library and need them so i can use them within the program. uninstalling and re installing can or WILL fix this? or is this something that is going to continue?

tried it twice. nothing works. I have half the resources on my Mac that I have on my iTouch right now. I bought the program thinking that I'd use it for seminary, but one day I have what I paid for, the next day I don't. This is beginning to be more of a hassle and hindrance than a help and aid for my bible studies.

I'm experiencing the same thing and commiserate with you. A simple, if not perfect, solution is to run L4 in an emulator as a windows program until the Mac version is complete. I have a trial version of Parallels that I'm really enjoying and am going to be using both Mac/PC versions to get what I need done. If you need full functionality ASAP, you can download a trial version of windows 7 (90 days) and a trial version of Parallels (12 days). I realize this probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, but if you absolutely need full functionality this is the way to go at the moment. Good luck with your pursuits in seminary and God bless.

Concur with simple solution: free alternative to Parallels is VirtualBox. Logos 4 sync does work cross platform. Likewise free alternative for Microsoft Office is Open Office, which is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and more.

Understand Logos 4 download, installation, and indexing time as a licensed Logos user with too many computers. When funny things happen, log files, console messages, and screen shots usually helpful. Several known issues have quicker fix/workaround. Likewise if new issue, Logos developers can add issue to list for resolution since most issues have tendency to occur on more than 1 computer.
