Calling all publishing companies...

This last week, I was at the Orange 2010 Conference (http://www.theorangeconference.com/); it was a great time gaining new ideas about mechanics of church operations.
While I was there, I wound up buying lots of books that offered perspectives that I hadn't encountered elsewhere. Physical books. Legacy bindings. Single use utility.
One publisher, David C Cook (http://www.davidccook.com/ ) , had their own booth there, so I engaged their marketing rep regarding electronic publishing. I was surprised that they'd not heard of Logos before--their understanding of electronic publishing was venues like Apple's new electronic book format and Kindle. I tried to lobby in earnest for why publishers of Christian content--especially anything of reference value--should ensure they publish to Logos.
This isn't the first time I've encountered this...some time ago, I tracked down an editor of a major publisher of a Christian-oriented publication that wasn't available in Logos format. I tried to lobby them in earnest too.
To my knowledge, I've convinced neither...but I'm sowing seeds and trying to get them to see a potential market that they could enter in ways that would minimize their risk. I post this not to push the conference I was at or the publisher I talked with...but instead to appeal to all y'all to consider initiating similar contact with the publisher reps you encounter in similar circumstances. My goal is to stop filling suitcases (and eventually garages) with books that are nearly impossible for me to re-reference after my initial read.

Ward I am backing you 110%. I want everything ever written or spoken in Religion, published in Logos Bible Software.

I also agree.
It would seem that more thorough communication to publishers about the benefits of Logos would be a good thing!
