Bug: 4.0c Beta 7: Disappearing focus makes navigation difficult

Navigate within a resource by opening the TOC panel, clicking on a location to jump to, then closing the TOC panel. Now hit Page Down. Nothing happens. Conclusion: the focus has not been restored to the resource panel. Expect: It should be. There is no visual indication that the focus is lost.

When the Locator Bar is open, if you click on the TOC toggle to close it, the focus remains on the TOC toggle. Once you begin scrolling with your mouse, the focus goes back to the text. If you use the keyboard shortcut to close the TOC (Ctrl+Shift+C), the focus will remain in the text (as it will if the Locator Bar is turned off).

Yes, I know. But that is problematic because there is no visual indication (e.g., dotted line around the double chevron icon) to show that the focus is there rather than in the resource panel. So there's no way to know that your keystrokes won't affect the open panel, or why PageDown/PageUp isn't working. And in fact, most users haven't the foggiest idea about the concept of "focus" in Windows. So they would be very confused by this behavior.

I've found that after closing the TOC, if I press Alt+Tab to switch away from Logos and then Alt+Tab back again, the dotted outline focus indicator shows up. While I would prefer to see the focus returned to the panel window after clicking on the TOC toggle (since I see no benefit to leaving the focus there), at the very least, this focus indicator should show up as soon as the focus goes to the TOC toggle. This will still leave people who don't understand about focus confused, but at least it would help Windows savvy users like me figure out what is going on.

True, you don't see the outline unless you use keyboard arrow. I'll submit a request for a change to this.

Also, it would be great if the indicator of focus..(color change, or dotted lines) was VERY OBVIOUS!...that would be a big help to those of us who are "...older..."
