Is this 'book' on Prepub actually a book?

I came across "The Preacher's Notebook" by John Stott, on prepub. I was intrigued by it, but I can't find out anything about it!

- there is no regular price noted, only the prepub price;

- nothing says how many pages this book is;

- there are no sample pages;

- so I checked on Amazon (through Stott's and editor's name) - not there.

- I checked on a popular used book site - not there.

- I went to a site and did a lookup for ISBN, it is not there - making me wonder if this is actually a book. In the past I have found even unreleased books have ISBN's.

So I am interested, but I really don't know what this is. Can we get some more information on out? Thanks!

In addition to what is found in the blog post, I'll add that The Preacher's Notebook is being published in Logos for the first time, so there is no print version available elsewhere. The manuscript is about 155,000 words. We are considering publishing a selection from it in print at some point, but there is nothing official to announce on that front yet.

I also plan on writing a second blog post next week that focuses more on the prayers found in The Preacher's Notebook.

I just checked an old term paper, single spaced and 11 point font, and a page was about 700 words. That would make this about 225 pages. That could be wildly inaccurate if there are drawings, handwriting, tables, different font size etc. But I would guess those would all add to the page count?

40USD for 225 pg of writing + illustrations. No pre-pub price is given - just the full price. In my opinion, this is too expensive. Buy his regular books!!

I returned the John Frame correspondence book that //s the Stott book at issue here. Not much content; far, far less content than one of his systematic books.

I was very uncomfortable with the Frame book, like I was a teenager buying - because its de rigueur - bits of letters + lyrics of my favorite rock star: ''Just send 39.95 to...''

Not on my credit card!!!
