adding books

This may be a simple or silly question, I know it is not one for the programmers per say, but why is it when you purchase and add a new commentary to your library it does not show up in the list of commentaries under passage guide. The way it is i will always have to remember to double check my library when i am doing research because it does not show up, or is there a way to add it that I am missing?

any other ideas on how to add new commentaries to the list that comes up when you search passage guide would really be appreciated.

I'd give it about four hours - update to A19 and see if the problem persists.
But as a matter of interest (and this is just being nosy) do the missing commentaries appear on the list if you open a passage guide on
?

Thats interesting, they do appear on the library logos passage guide. I will wait and see if 19 resolves it. Have you bought any commentaries, and do they show up in the search? The ones i have purchased later are in my library list, they just don't show up in passage guide.

Robert:
Two things I'd be curious about. The first is a bit silly but still worth asking. What citation are you using to search, and what commentaries are you expecting to come up? If you are looking for commentaries that focus on an area of the Bible that your citation has little or nothing to do with the commentaries you are looking for won't show up, only ones that pertain to the citation in question.
The second is that it could be that you need to index your library. Searches draw from the index file and if the new commentaries haven't been indexed on their own at the very least more than likely Logos4 will not find them outside of the 'My Library' area.

The citation is 1 corinthians and the commentaries are on 1 corinthians

Robert:
I was actually trying to get something a bit more specific. 1 Corinthians is an entire book, I highly doubt you are searching the entire book from the Go bar on the Home Page. And what commentary exactly, meaning what is the name of the commentary you have but are not seeing come up and what is the exact citation? I need to specifics in order to duplicate what you are trying to do.

Oh, sorry about that. 1 Corinthian 1, The IVP New Testament commentary series 1 Corinthians.

Just checking to see if anyone has any ideas in this.

Robert:
Presuming the citation you are searching is 1 Corinthians 1, it should be showing up after it has been prioritized. Do you have any other commentaries that might be give information for that citation? Could you take a screen shot of the Passage Guide after you have committed your search?

Tommy thank you for your help. For whatever reason it is now showing up. Maybe an update, or indexing or something this morning corrected it.

Perhaps. It is good that it is fixed though.
