How do I make a closed group open?
I created a group recently and it is closed. People can only join as followers not members. I would like to change this but I do not know how. I looked into the settings and if it is where it is done, I am not sure how to proceed. For now, I am manually converting followers into members but it would be much better if people could simply directly join as members (and others as followers if they don't want to be members).
Help anyone?

Thanks, Graham, for your response. Are you referring to the privacy level section? It only gives the option of "public" where new people must still have permission to become members. The "create a group" tutorial video shows that during the creation process there is an option to choose an "open" group in which "new members can join immediately".
See here https://faithlife.com/help "create a group" video, about 14 seconds in.
I apparently did not pay enough attention when I created the group but this is what I would like to change the group to now.
Perhaps the group permission section allows one to implement these changes but if so, it is not clear to me how exactly.

Seem to remember Faithlife changing open public default to Follower due to spam abuse of Member messaging.

I think you may be referring to what Dustin said at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/151779/928052.aspx#928052

Having looked at the video you mentioned - and one of the others on the same page - and comparing with the privacy settings I think - but am not sure - that the current naming does not match that in the video (which may have been produced against an earlier version of the Faithlife software).
As per KS4J comment I don't think the approach outlined in the video works anymore.
