I can't find a quick way to clear the search window (terms + results), besides deleting the search terms, but even then the search results remain.
Clearing search results helps speed up loading times, so having a quick way to do it would be good.

Rather than have the search re-run when you restart L4?
There has been a related suggestion that a search not be run when you open its tab after a restart. I would prefer the search not be re-run under either circumstance after a restart (especially a Syntax search).
A "clear search" would let you clear out search result highlights in resource windows without having to close the search window.
It's just the re-running that is annoying - I'd rather that L4 didn't assume I need the results just because I keep two search tabs in my layout.
Suggestion submitted.

Yes - I don't normally need searches to persist across sessions.
It would be better if the search wasn't re-run on restart, and as others have suggested, I want to keep the Search tab open.
