A19 Biblical people/ Biblical places... keeps reappearing in my layout

I deleted Biblical People and Biblical Places from my passage guide when using A 18 it seemed to work to stop hangs and crashes.
I just updated to A19 and Biblical People and Biblical Places keeps reappearing. I have since updated my layout to remove these items but every time I search a new passage it reappears. and then promptly crashes Logos. Help

Have you tried collapsing these items rather than removing them?

Heath:
It sounds like you are avoiding them as to get your PG/EG searches to go faster. There is a way to make it so those two items do not come back. You have to create a new Template, and name it "My Passage Guide" or "My Exegetical Guide" least this is how to dictate the default Passage/Exegetical guide features on the Windows side. You could try that.
You will however need to change it back to what it was normally in the same manner when--if ever--you want those two items back.

Well I am updated and indexed with A19.1.
My layout is called my default and it is one I created. It has both Biblical People/Place removed from the passage guide. When I am at the home screen I go to layouts and open it. It opens to a passage in Luke which was the current passage when I saved it as a layout. When it loads Biblical People and Places are not in the passage guide. Which is the way I want it.
When I type a new passage in the passage guide and hit enter. Lets say Matthew 5-7. The Biblical People and Places return to the passage guide and continue to run long after everything else is loaded. In A18 the layout worked fine and the BPE/BPL wouldn't show up when looking up a new Scripture.
I try to hit the stop button because everything else is loaded but that generally gives me the beach ball and then Logos quits and I have to restart.

If you want those sections entirely removed (as opposed to, say, collapsed), you need to create new guide templates without those sections.
When you remove a section from a guide, you're only removing the section from the guide for that passage. If you navigate to a new passage, it pulls all the sections that are associated with the guide template.
That said, I believe that the Biblical People/Places/Things sections in the Passage Guide should now be much closer to being on par with their Windows counterparts. That is to say, they'll be slower than other sections, but they should still complete within 20-40 seconds for a full chapter reference.

When you get to that point, then close BPP&Ts manually by clicking the dropdowns. Then save or update your layout (right-click on layout name and select update). Then, when you launch L4Mac, this will not happen. Even if you change your passage, it will update the Passage Guide without opening BPP&T.
That's how I do it![:)]

Thats the way the layout is set up. The layout I use does not include BPE or BPL in the passage guide I have used the x in the passage guide to remove them then updated the layouts then saved it as my default. When it loads from the home screen by clicking that layout it loads Luke18-21 without the BPE/BPL. But every time I search a new one it adds them back. and then it crashes Logos every time

If you're getting crashes, I'd like to see some logs.
However, like I said, it's working the way it's supposed to work: removing a guide section has no impact on your layout. The reason that the guide section stays gone when you reload your Passage Guide is that it's loading the guide for that passage.

I am also uploading a video to youtube and will provide a link shortly. I can never get videos to upload here. You will see that my layout is set up correctly. Exactly as Alan describes. I set up in A18 and it worked fine.

As far as I know, what Alan describes shouldn't work. If it did, it was a bug. The correct way to accomplish what you're trying to do is to create a new guide template.

Are you saying what I think you are saying, i.e. that collapsing Passage Guide items in a layout should not carry over to the next use of the app? Because that's what I was referring to. If I collapse an item on PG it stays that way until I choose to expand it, even over dozens of openings and closings of the app.
The blunt fact is that if this functionality is a bug, then please don't fix it until after BPPT are functioning efficiently.

No. Two different things are being discussed.
You can remove an item from your Passage Guide: that is, you can click the 'x' that shows up on the right-hand side while you hover over the section. This removes that section from the guide for that passage. It has no effect other than that (and if you want a guide just like the Passage Guide but without section x, you can create a new template for that).
You can also collapse an item in the Passage Guide. When you run a new guide, the system remembers which sections were collapsed/expanded in the last guide that you interacted with and uses those as presets.
My understanding was that Heath was talking about the former option, and upon my first reading, I thought you were, too (although I now realize that you were talking about the latter).
The latter behavior, as both of us have described it, ought to work, although it has nothing whatsoever to do with layouts.

Ok, I float the passage guide panel so you could see it. I clicked the x on Biblical People/places and then saved this as a layout.
If clicking the x's and then updating and saving your layout is not the correct way to remove BPE/BPL from the passage guide. Please provide screenshots or videos on how I may do this. It would be greatly appreciated.
