You may not really like this suggestion but what I do when I get a really slow L4 from what has been fast.....I do a couple of things actually.
first, I close logos and start it again. Sometimes I wonder if on its start up in windows not all the files get put into place correctly. Its like the chain is really loose on a bicycle and the sprokets are rotating due to the chain but there is so much slippage its really slow.
Second, I "rebuild index" (without the quotes) on the home page. This option might take some time but it has certainly helped me.

When you do a Basic Search do you always get results in the "New Resources" section?

i phoned logos and a level 2 technician looked and we decided i can only use the vine,s i purchased from logos independently from my layouts as it makes it unusable with been extremely to slow to use , the level 2 said it could be my video card , but logos 4 works ok until i add vine,s to a layout, do you ever think they will put on logos 4 what logos 3 had where you just hover a pointer and the meaning of the word comes up in a box , i really miss that feature i thought it was very efficient, i dont find the information box makes up for the old feature logos 3 had of the box appearing as i hovered over any word

just type rebuild index in the command bar. This will completely rebuild the index from the ground up. It is the indexing that happens when you just install L4. It will take a long time.

Nice to know someone else misses my favorite feature of Logos 3. The ability to customize the info that appeared in the hover popup combined with the speed was wonderful.

do you ever think they could bring this really good feature logos 3 had into logos 4 , it does make a bid difference when studying to just hover over a word and see the meaning come up in a box , somebody said perhaps logos 4 will add this feature on later , i hope so ,
