4.0c RC1 seems pretty stable?

At least based on the sudden dearth of activity in the beta forum. With 4.0b I waited until RC2 to make the jump. Do all you beta users think it's safe to jump on RC1 of 4.0c at this point? No showstopping problems? (Other than some performance issues that sound like they will have to wait for 4.0d anyway).

There have been two different crashing bugs reported in Morph searching. If you never use that feature you should be fine.

I agree with Rosie. I would expect an RC2 to handle the few issues that have been reported, but there is nothing in RC1 that prevent me from using the program. I replaced my stable release of 4.0b on my Netbook two days ago. The new features in 4.0c are worth it.

If you're still waiting, RC2 is out... & it doesn't say it's RC2. Unless a showstopper emerges, it looks like this one will be 4.0C.

RC1 didn't indicate that it was an RC either!

However, history indicates that RC-2 will probably become 4.0c Gold.

Yeah, and I downloaded and installed RC-1 just as RC-2 was being posted and now I can't get it to update [:P]

Try:

1) typing Update Now in the command bar.

if that fails....

2) type set update channel to beta in the command bar, then do #1.

Oops, sorry Thomas. I should have mentioned that I started a thread about the problem. Setting update channel to beta fixed it, then I set it back after updating. Update now wasn't working, nor was downloading and running the new setup file.
