Search shuts down

I have developed a problem with the search box on the homepage of my Logos 4. Whenever I start to type in it the circular timer comes on (as if it is searching) then the programme shuts down. A message box says that Windows is searching for a solution to the problem, but it doesn't find one. I can navigate around the homepage and type in the Command Box, just not the Passage or Topic box on the homepage. Is this a problem with my Logos or with my Computer/Windows?

Anne, is Logos generating a file called Logos4Crash.txt when it shuts down? (If so, you should find it in the "Logos Log Files" folder inside your Documents folder if it's there; check the datestamp to see if it's from this recent crash). If you could attach that file here, it would help us (and Logos) figure out what is going wrong. Just click on the paperclip icon on the toolbar in the message editor, click Browse to navigate to the file on your computer, click Open once you've found it and selected it, then delete the Max width and Max height numbers (optional), and click Insert.

And what version of Logos 4 are you running? You can find the version number by clicking on the ? icon in the upper right corner to drop down the Help menu and then choosing About Logos Bible Software. The version number is in the upper left of the About box, just above the copyright line.

    Anne,

    First, welcome to the forums.

I think the first thing to do is to go to this page http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging  and enable logging.

When you go for these files to post....don't shut down logos.

Just for verification....you can type into the command box like open esv and the esv bible will open.  But going to the passage box will allow no input?

To post the logs.  just save the files and then add them via the paper clip within the top bar of this entry window.

    The version is 4.ob SR-2 (4.02.3.8750)

    Thanks for this.

    The problem is here:

    Error ID: 5630
Error detail: SQLiteException: The database disk image is malformed
    database disk image is malformed

and looks like one of two things: a malformed file, or a bad spot on the hard disk.

Since this only happens when typing in the text, you may be able to fix it with a simple command, that shouldn't take too long to run.

Try this: type rebuild bible index in the command bar of Logos4. Let the index finish and try again.

If that doesn't work, you may need to rebuild your entire index, or check your hard drive for errors.
