Biblical Places Hangs Up

I've been working through some of the new features and watched the tutorial on biblical places from a couple of days ago. The example with Antioch from the video worked great.  When loading another (Bethel North of Jerusalem) I've gotten into the dreaded spinning rainbow.

Any clues?

I've been working through some of the new features and watched the tutorial on biblical places from a couple of days ago. The example with Antioch from the video worked great.  When loading another (Bethel North of Jerusalem) I've gotten into the dreaded spinning rainbow.

    Any clues?

Observation: spinning beach ball can happen frequently when Mac lacks Free Memory.  Apple's Activity Monitor can show memory usage:

    image

Screen shot shows 131.2 MB for Page Outs - Spinning Beach Ball displays while memory pages are written out to disk => slow.  When free memory (green) is low (small or non-existent slice) and page outs happening, good idea to close all applications and restart Mac.  After restart, open Logos 4 and Activity Monitor, then retry Biblical People.  By the way, Activity Monitor has option to show memory usage as dock icon:

After upgrading memory in recently purchased computer, Tools => Biblical Places fascinating:

Typed Bethel - then chose "Bethel (North of Jerusalem)" from list:

After "Bethel (North of Jerusalem)" displayed, hovered mouse over thumbnail in bottom row for image preview (lower left):

Noticed free memory reduce while Biblical Places generating images.

I dunno, I don't believe it's a memory issue.  The tool itself doesn't want to load. As I said, loading it with Antioch was simple and quick. Now loading Biblical Places without searching anything at all causes a hang up requiring a 'force quit'.

Seems to me that 2 GB of memory should be plenty. I'll try the reboot again and see what shakes out.

Observation: after restarting iMac, watched Logos 4 use 2.1o GB memory while slowing regenerating Biblical Places over 15 minutes.  While trying to replicate, opened and closed Biblical People (Abraham), then opened Biblical Places for Bethel => force quit.  For Logos developers after more replications, posted logs in http://community.logos.com/forums/p/16830/127337.aspx#127337 - noticed memory allocation errors in console messages.

I have been getting a similar outcome with Biblical Places. Oddly, the feature was working until the latest index today. Now when I open BP the page is blank and I cannot close the window without a force quit either. Can't wait until it is working properly!
