In Jesus, OR in him - Ephesians 1:4,10

"in him" is flagged by the visual filter as being "in Jesus", but the software attributes the verse 4 "in him" to God. Please check this

The Pulpit Commentary: Ephesians 1:4

Ver. 4.—Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world; literally, he chose us out, or selected us (ἐξελέξατο) for himself (middle voice). The Father chose the heirs of salvation, selected those who were to be quickened from the dead (ch. 2:1) and saved. He chose them in Christ—in connection with his work and office as Mediator, giving them to him to be redeemed (John 17:11, 12)[1]

Spiritual and heavenly blessings are the best blessings; with which we cannot be miserable, and without which we cannot but be so. This was from the choice of them in Christ, before the foundation of the world, that they should be made holy by separation from sin, being set apart to God, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit, in consequence of their election in Christ.[2]

    I would go to your Apparatus(es) and check textual variants before staking out a position on the translational wording.

    Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river.

    Yes, Ephesians 1:4 it looks like a data error in the referent dataset to me. I don't know any commentaries or interpretations that take the view 'in him' is anyone other than 'Christ'. The tagging of 'God' is therefore presumably an error.

    Hopefully the data guys will notice this post and respond.
