Searching WITHIN

David Bayne

I tried this search

fire WITHIN 1-50 WORDS spirit

And got Judges 15:14, Matthew 3:11, Luke 3:16 and Revelation 4:5

But not Acts 2:3-4

Can anyone explain this or give me a better search term to find all instances where fire and spirit are associated?

A Bible search will not cross verse boundaries. Try a Basic search instead limited to the "Bible Text" field. That will work within chapter boundaries (more or less).

Thanks for that. I've used Logos for quite a while and never realised the verse boundary issue with searches!

A search idea is: (Preaching Themes have Pericope Boundaries)

(ablaze,flame,fiery,fire) INTERSECTS {Section <PreachingTheme = Holy Spirit>}
