What is the easiest way to explore what I have in my library?
Search doesn't seem to delineate.
There must be a simple to browse through my library

Hi Phil - and welcome to the forums
Does the article at https://wiki.logos.com/Library__ help?
Or the section in the helpfile?
Or if not, please provide a bit more detail as to what you are hoping to do.
Graham
Welcome to the forums!
Have you tried pressing the "library" icon? From there, you can either do a search for a title or - if you'd like - by any of the other fields. For example, to find all books by Carson, I'd type author:carson.
Alternatively, if you'd like to just scroll through - there are various display formats (see red box on the right). The one shown in the screenshot above is the Details view.
Something I only learned recently is that you can choose to show the above in a tab. Simply right-click the library icon:

I always forget about the Wiki. Going to bookmark it this time [;)]
Phil, there is no easy way to search the library, and you can't always trust the search results.
Hi Michael
Can you expand on that please? What problems do you see?
And if there are issues you have found may be better in a separate thread.
Thanks, Graham
Hey Joshua,
Not sure if you knew or not but you can also left click on the library icon, hold down the mouse button, and drag it to a specific window/panel/tab or other position you want including making it big or small. I find this tip to be especially helpful and wanted to share in case others didn't know.

Even better. Thanks, Ryan!

I repeat, there is not an easy way to search the library.
I love Logos, and use it hours every day. I have done so for more than 20 years. But it is not particularly "user friendly" software. It was at one time, but has become far less so.
I typed:
series:ancient christian commentary and 32 volumes showed up.
When I typed:
series:preaching the word 39 volumes appeared
And when I did:
series:hermeneia 61 volumes appeared
I think you have to type the right “key word” before typing the name of a series in order to get better results. I learned this on a webinar Logos had many moons ago.
👍😁👌
DAL
When you just enter a search term without indicating the fields to be searched, the titles, authors, and descriptions of the books will be searched. I don't think (although I could be wrong) that any other fields are searched. As DAL indicates, you'll have better luck searching a specific field when you know the field.
DAL's searches also work better using quotation marks to indicate phrases when you know exact phrases.
series:"ancient christian commentary"
series:"preaching the word"
Otherwise the indicated field is only applied to the first word.
Michael as DAL pointed out you need to use the correct keyword to limit the search. When you type in a search like examples you give Logos is searching multiple fields and results are being shown where those words might be found in fields such as title, description, subject hence why you are getting unexpected results. I do grant on ocassion there can be missing, incomplete or incorrect information but that is a different issue to what you are experiencing.
Mike Meiser has a helpful sub 20 min screencast on getting the most out of the Logos Library Panel on YouTube
https://youtu.be/IB8bVVDfEzc
There is also a longer one put out by Logos if you can set aside an hour to watch.

Both of these were created using earlier versions of Logos but they will be helpful for both Michael and the OP, Phil.
So my thinking was more like; "do I have this book"
Perhaps if I know the author I could search; author: "Robertson"
Would that work?
Or; title: "A Grammar of the Greek New Testament"
Thanks,
Yes, those searches will produce what you are looking for.

either will work on their own or you can combine the two using the operator AND:
title: "A Grammar of the Greek New Testament" AND author:robertson

Except you need to make sure there is no space after "title:". Otherwise it won't work right.
I think the first step for library management, is decide which columns you want (right-click on the column headers), and what order (drag/drop the headers). Then clicking on the header groups the choices (except title).
As for the most maddening daily-use feature, it's the searching the descriptions, when a column isn't specified. Logos (or the publisher?) descriptions are overly broad, mainly for marketing. Inevitably I have to specify the title and/or author (guessing, trying to remember a book I have).
A space after the colon for a Library column filter is interpreted as AND. Quotes are needed for spaces.
author:Robertson
FYI: personally added prefixes to English Bible Commentary resources. Thread => Creating a New Series of Commentaries includes prefix discussion.
Also can search for resources with two words in Title (e.g. Grammar AND Greek)
title:Grammar Title:Greek
Note: have added prefixes to some Grammar resources.

[Y] good spot, I was typing on my phone and didn't realise the space had snuck its way into the command.
