How to open Library always in full & floating window?

I used to be able to open my Library from shortcut straight to full & floating window, but now I cannot.

What am I doing wrong? Now I always have to right-click it all the time to open it in full & floating screen.

I know I've been doing this manual since I forgot when... So I need suggestions.

I just opened the Library in a new tab and then dragged the tab to the short cut bar to create a short cut. Closed the pane and then clicked on the short cut and it opened in a tab. Maybe delete your short cut and recreate it. I am on L7 Mac 7.15 SR1.

Did your library opened in floating and full screen mode when clicked from the shortcut, like it used to be John?

Create a link to the "Show Library" command on the toolbar as John suggested and you can Shift-Click the toolbar button to open in a floating window or Ctrl-Click to open in a tab. Note that, for non-Library tools/resources, Shift or Ctrl clicking will duplicate the window or tab if one is already open. I'm not sure why these modifiers don't work on the main Library button, however, middle click on the main Library button will open in a tab. Ctrl+L will also open to a floating window.

Note also that there is a memory to the created toolbar buttons, though I haven't quite figured the behavior out. Initially, it opened a tab every time, now it opens a floating window every time, but I'm not sure how it's reset.

This is weird... For the longest time I did the same steps I've done in couple years trying to fix the library shortcut and never works. (drag & drop the floating library on the bar)

Now I did the same steps and .... move the shortcut to the last position (most right) on the bar... and now the shortcut works. [*-)]

Normally I would put the shortcut on the third position from the left on the bar... and it had never worked.

Well... thanks everyone... I guess my perseverance finally payed off. lol ... No more clicking 3 times. 1 click is enough now... (1st world problem, I know)

And I can't figure out how to get mine to open in full screen mode by default from the created toolbar button. Yes, Shift+Click will do it as will right-clicking and selecting the floating window option, but simply left clicking on the button always opens the library in a tab.
