Two regular problems with highlight in IOS

1. Highlights disappearing about a second after they are applied. I often highlight a section in yellow and then overlay parts of it in orange For added emohasis. About 50% of the time the orange highlight disappears about a second after being applied. This is a new problem - I have only encountered it very recently.

2. Sometimes when selecting resource text, the black Popup menu simply does not appear at all.

For the first problem, I suggest that you verify that the note was not actually created. In other words, verify that the issue isn’t simply a problem with the highlight being visually shown.

I see the second problem regularly and the only solution I have found - which doesn’t always work - is to force close and restart the app.

I sporadically see this issue. Most of the time it's either: a) because the device doesn't have internet connectivity (implying the implementation is somewhat fragile, which I think it is); b) if the resource's settings on the device don't have "Notes" enabled - in this case the app's behavior for those kinds of settings seems to be unpredictable when opening a resource.

I had this issue for a couple of years, but have not seen it in a while (I'm on iOS 11.4). There are some older threads where this issue was reported, but I think it's been well over a year. I suspect that, if it is the same issue, 1) the highlight WILL be in your notes document, and 2) that if you move the pages up and down a few times, and then pause for about 60 seconds, the highlight that disappeared will either reappear permanently, or will begin to blink off and on and then remain constant.

Thanks folks ... sounds like it's a known issue.

I do have a LOT of highlights - I wonder if I'm beginning to overload the system?

Are they in the same note document?
If you tried to print the document from your computer, how many pages would it be?
Are they in the same resource?

They're spread across a few documents and are mostly in the NIV84. The largest note file would be around 6-7000 highlights, but I am using a new note file now, which is much smaller, and the problems are occurring with that one.
