Nearly 25,000 Logos Forum users

As we near 25,000 Logos forum users, I wonder if there shouldn't be a prize for the 25,000th individual who signs up? A free copy of Portfolio or something?!?

Isn't it possible that there are already more than 25,000 forum members and that many are just silently observing rather than actually participating?[8-|]Forum Activity: 24,544 users have contributed to 16,298 threads and 128,182 posts.0

I think 24,544 users is the number of registered members on the forum. There could be other Logos owners who have looked at the forum and not registered. But I'm sure plenty have registered and looked and not posted. Bradley said the other day that there are much fewer than 300 active forum participants. I wonder what his criterion for "active" is? Having posted > X posts so far, or > Y posts within the past month/week? Or maybe he was just joking since the rest of that post was kind of a tease.

Hello,
I have been a Logos owner for about six months but have not registered. I look at the forum most every day. The post have greatly helped me to learn to use this wonder program. I use version 4 and love it.

I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forums. Everyone is welcome and there is so much for everyone to learn. Even the person with 1 or 2 posts here can be as functional as a person with 3000 posts. This is one reason why I like this place so much. I have received lots of help over the months that this has been open.

...Perhaps "active" has something to do with death marching ... http://blog.logos.com/archives/2010/04/software_developers_walking.html
Or maybe something to do with cycling ... http://www.logos.com/products/details/5266
Perhaps even the sedentary at Logos are active, given the caffeine involved in their ops ... http://blog.logos.com/archives/2010/01/it_takes_a_lot_of_coffee_to_run_logos.html

Most forums have a relatively small number that do the majority of the posting. Many read and learn without ever making a post.
The level of contributions from the core forum participants is excellent and benefits all Logos users.
Someone always seems to have an answer for any problem very quickly.

Maybe after we hit 25 or 50 thousand, put all the names in a hat and pull for a gift. But I must say that alot of times I will check out the forums and go weeks without posting anything. But still reading them and reaping a benefit from that. A great place to get info!!!

And amazingly, when the forums were introduced some users from the old newsgroup raised their voices in opposition to this new forum. It seems that this new forum has caught on!

Unfortunately, some of those who raised their voices have never been very active in these forums. Some participated for a time and then faded away. That is indeed very sad as many of them had much insight to share.
