How to remove "Clippings File" from popup menu

No matter what layout I'm using or what resource I'm referencing, if I right-click on a word or select a string of words in a resource, one of the options that always appears (and at the top of the list in it's section of the popup menu) is an option to add a clipping to one of my clippings files (always the same clippings file).

I regularly use notes and very rarely use clippings, yet the clippings file is always listed above my notes file and it's always there even though I have no clippings files open.

Is there anything I can do to remove the clippings file option from appearing in the popup menu until/unless I reopen the clippings file?

No, not to my knowledge. The contextual menu defaults to an open Clippings file if one is open, and to the last used Clippings file if none is open. This is the preferred behavior for most of us.

You can change the one that appears by opening the one of your choice and then closing it. Logos will remember that particular Clippings file. I have one I call "Serendipitous Clippings" that I leave there all the time so I can easily make a clipping when reading something (that I can sort later). Something like this might be your best solution.
