I created a collection with a rule type:lexicon. I tried to use lemma in a passage, why isn't it working.
Lemma in Passage searches Commentaries - so won't recognise collections just containing lexicons.
Are you trying to find where a particular lemma is discussed in your lexicons?
Maybe instead you're looking to use Lemma in Passage inside of Bible Word Study (so, looking up commentary mentions by lemma)? It is supported there.
Yes.
Maybe we should expand this to lexicons
You can search lexicons for occurrences of words
Does this help at all?
It would be so helpful if this can be done in lemma in passage....
If a lexicon was going to discuss a lemma, wouldn't it be more likely to be found under that lemma's headword, rather than being discussed in the context of a different lemma?
I'd be leery of returning Lemma in Passage lexicon results which would duplicate results already provided by the Lemma section of the guide. There's enough content to sift through without wasting time discovering that you've already read a result.
Robert, I'm unsure what you're trying to accomplish. How do you envision "Lemma in Passage" returning hits in lexicons? Can you give some more detail?
From Lemma in Passage in the Exegetical Guide, if you click on the lemma, it opens BWS to that lemma. From there you should be able to access your preferred lexicons.
Is this what you're trying to do? Note you could also select the "All Passages" in the BWS window to trim your hits down to a particular passage.
That is helpful!
