Will subscribers to Faithlife Connect get Logos 8 upgrade as soon as it comes out
I remember that Logos 7 automatically was made available and downloaded as soon as it was released as part of my Logos Now subscription.
Since I was moved to Faithlife Connect, I was wondering if Logos 8 will automatically download as soon as it is released (whenever that is...).

Great question! Whilst FLC and LN are very different beasts, I'm hoping that the answer will be a resounding yes!

On launch day Faithlife Connect subscribers will be automatically updated to the new Logos 8 engine and get access to the new Logos 8 features, data sets, etc. (that corresponds to their Connect level: Essentials and higher get everything), but will not be upgraded to a new Logos 8 library. There will likely be a special offer for Connect members to get an special price to upgrade to a Logos 8 library, if you choose to do that.

Thanks for the quick response. And it is the response that I (and probably others) was hoping to hear. I continue to be happy that I stuck with the Faithlife Connect and am staying on auto renewal. I am working on a course on 6 month loan and I have gotten some interesting free books. Definitely worth it to me.

Phil, I opted to not auto-renew my FC subscription. I have a $200 code for a base package which I'm planning to use to purchase the Full Feature Package before FC expires in about 10 days.
What will be my status when L8 lands? Will I then need to upgrade again to get the new features? Or would I be better of waiting before using the code?

If your subscription has expired, you will have to purchase something OR wait for the free engine. If your subscription is current, you will gain the new engine and features immediately. Your “auto renew” status is irrelevant until your subscription lapses.

This is great news and what, I think it is fair to say, we all want to hear. I for one was hoping for an upgrade to the Engine and Features for Logos 8.
As lovely as it would be, I certainly wasn't expecting to get a free base package!!! Nevertheless, thanks for the important clarification.

Logos Now/Faithlife Connect/Whatever We are Called This Week [:P][:)]) does have one caveat you may want to consider when deciding what to or what not to do.
FC renews at current rates for current members, but, should you decide to not auto-renew, and return later, you would get charged the higher rate. (Unless that has changed since I last saw details). But, assuming things did not backlash too much, you may want to consider the "rental" option auto-renewing. Once it lapses, then it's "ouch" pricing. Again, unless that has changed.
For me, I am very happy with the subscription plan, as the benefits are phenomenal. Now that Logos 8 is out, how/when will Connect members get the updates?

Connect members received early access to Logos 8, as of last week. As a Connect subscriber, please check your email or click on this link to store.faithlife.com/buy/169069 to benefit from the new release. Anyone that is subscribed to Connect and didn't click on the early-access email, will be auto upgraded early this week.

Just spoke with Support (800-875-6467) and was told that the free Logos 8 engine upgrade will be available in "early 2019".
