Install went fine on my Home Desktop system. But on my laptop running Windows 7 also it failed.  I got an error saying it didn't have access to the directory.  I cancelled and re ran Logos in Admin mode and all is going well now preparing the library.

EDIT: Whoops.  Spoke too soon. Crash on open after installing the update and preparing the library.

Thanks the issue was reported, you can still use beta 3 right?

NO. It won't open. It crashes every time I open it on both my laptop and my desktop system.

Hi, this issue has been resolved for Beta 4, it has something to do with excerpts. Please navigate to:

    XP              - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\<random_string>\ResourceManager\Resources\

    Vista/Win7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\<random_string>\ResourceManager\Resources\

    And erase the file "excerpts.lbsexc"

Edit: Sorry just noticed Melissa replied to you in another thread.

I had the same problem loading onto Windows 7 (Retail RC version of Ultimate x32). I finally got it to open but now I have no help files or anything.

I think my problem is a direct result of the failed Beta 1 CD i8nstall. I did get a Windows error that would not let me complete a full install. I did manage to get an update to beta 3 to run but I ended up having no resources including help files. I uninstalled everything and tried again with the same result. It appears to be a problem on my Windows 7 machine where I do not have version 3 already installed (fresh install). Is there a way to download the entire beta 3 and try that install?

I have attached the original log file:

    Hi Chris,

The Beta 4 update, when ready, will rescan the server for updated resources, including the Help resource, so it should find and download it.

    Thanks,
    Melissa
