I may be missing something but:
He's in the list of "mighty men" that starts in 1 Chr 11:23. Warrior seems like a fair inference given his presence in that list.
Okay, we differ in how we read the text. I would say that "Zadia son of Ahlai" is in the list of "mighty men" - this means Zadia is a mighty man but says nothing about Ahlai. So I'd say that Ahlai (warrior) is poor logic - Ahlai (father of Zabad) reflects more accurately what the Bible tells us about him. I hope this is not a pervasive error. See 1 Chr 11:43 "Hanan son of Maacah" for a parallel that does not have the logic error.
